1. Check the area of your repair for unsoldered or poorly-solderedconnections. Check the entire board surface for solder splashesand bridges.
2. Check the interboard wiring to ensure that no wires are"pinched" or contact high-wattage resistors.
3. Look for unauthorized replacement parts, particularlytransistors, that were installed during a previous repair. Pointthem out to the customer and recommend their replacement.
4. Look for parts which, through functioning, show obvious signsof deterioration. Point them out to the customer andrecommend their replacement.
5. Check the B+ voltage to see it is at the values specified.6. Flexible Circuit Board Repairing
• Keep the temperature of the soldering iron around 270˚Cduring repairing.
• Do not touch the soldering iron on the same conductor of thecircuit board (within 3 times).
• Be careful not to apply force on the conductor when solderingor unsoldering.

Unleaded solderBoards requiring use of unleaded solder are printed with the lead-free mark (LF) indicating the solder contains no lead.(Caution: Some printed circuit boards may not come printed withthe lead free mark due to their particular size.)
: LEAD FREE MARKUnleaded solder has the following characteristics.• Unleaded solder melts at a temperature about 40°C higher than
ordinary solder.Ordinary soldering irons can be used but the iron tip has to beapplied to the solder joint for a slightly longer time.Soldering irons using a temperature regulator should be set toabout 350°C.Caution: The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away if theheated tip is applied for too long, so be careful!
• Strong viscosityUnleaded solder is more viscous (sticky, less prone to flow) thanordinary solder so use caution not to let solder bridges occur suchas on IC pins, etc.
• Usable with ordinary solderIt is best to use only unleaded solder but unleaded solder mayalso be added to ordinary solder.

1. 注意事項をお守りください。サービスのとき特に注意を要する個所については,キャビネット,シャーシ,部品などにラベルや捺印で注意事項を表示しています。これらの注意書き及び取扱説明書等の注意事項を必ずお守り下さい。
2. 指定部品のご使用をセットの部品は難燃性や耐電圧など安全上の特性を持ったものとなっています。従って交換部品は,使用されていたものと同じ特性の部品を使用して下さい。特に回路図,部品表に0印で指定されている安全上重要な部品は必ず指定のものをご使用下さい。
3. 部品の取付けや配線の引きまわしはもとどおりに安全上,チューブやテープなどの絶縁材料を使用したり,プリント基板から浮かして取付けた部品があります。また内部配線は引きまわしやクランパによって発熱部品や高圧部品に接近しないよう配慮されていますので,これらは必ずもとどおりにして下さい。
4. サービス後は安全点検をサービスのために取外したネジ,部品,配線がもとどおりになっているか,またサービスした個所の周辺を劣化させてしまったところがないかなどを点検し,安全性が確保されていることを確認して下さい。
5. チップ部品交換時の注意• 取外した部品は再使用しないで下さい。• タンタルコンデンサのマイナス側は熱に弱いため交換時は注意して下さい。
サービス,点検時には次のことにご注意下さい。
6. フレキシブルプリント基板の取扱いについて• コテ先温度を270前後にして行なって下さい。• 同一パターンに何度もコテ先を当てないで下さい。(3回以内)
• パターンに力が加わらないよう注意して下さい。7. 無鉛半田について無鉛半田を使用している基板には,無鉛(Lead Free)を意味するレッドフリーマークがプリントされています。(注意:基板サイズによっては,無鉛半田を使用して
いてもレッドフリーマークがプリントされていないものがあります)
:レッドフリーマーク無鉛半田には,以下の特性があります。• 融点が従来の半田よりも約40高い。従来の半田こてをそのまま使用することは可能ですが,少し長めにこてを当てる必要があります。温度調節機能のついた半田こてを使用する場合,約350に設定して下さい。注意:半田こてを長く当てすぎると,基板のパター
ン(銅箔)がはがれてしまうことがありますので,注意して下さい。
• 粘性が強い従来の半田よりも粘性が強いため,IC端子などが半田ブリッジしないように注意して下さい。
• 従来の半田と混ぜて使用可能無鉛半田には無鉛半田を追加するのが最適ですが,従来の半田を追加しても構いません。
注意電池の交換は,正しく行わないと破裂する恐れがあります。電池を交換する場合には必ず同じ型名の電池又は同等品と交換してください。使用済み電池は,取扱指示に従って処分してください。

1. SERVICE NOTE
1-1. PRECAUTION ON REPLACING THE SY-214 BOARD
DESTINATION DATAWhen you replace to the repairing board, the written destination data of repairing board also might be changed to original setting.Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “DESTINATON DATA WRITE”.
RESTORE DATAWhen you replace to the repairing board, get the data from the former one.Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and perform “RESTORE DATA” to get the data.The data getting for this model is as follows.
• USB SERIAL No.• Angular Velocity Sensor
USB SERIAL No.The set is shipped with a unique ID (USB Serial No.) written in it.This ID has not been written in a new board for service, and therefore it must be entered after the board replacement.Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “USB SERIAL No. INPUT”.
Angular Velocity SensorWhen you replace to the reparing board, write down the sensitivity displayed on the angular velocity sensor (SE401 and SE402).Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “Angular velocity sensor sensitivity adj”.
Note: The sensor sensitivity of SE401 and SE402 of SY-214 board is written only repair parts.
1-2. PRECAUTION ON REPLACING THE LENS
When replacing the lens, write down the PITCH/YAW data given on the data sheet of the replacement lens for service.Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “Angular velocity sensor sensitivity adj”.
Note: The PITCH/YAW data of lens are written only repair parts.

1-3. METHOD FOR COPYING OR ERASING THE DATA IN INTERNAL MEMORY
The data can be copied/erased by the operations on the HOME screen. (When erasing the data, execute formatting the internal memory.)
Note 1: When replacing the SY-214 board, erase the data in internal memory of the board before replacement.Note 2: When replacing the SY-214 board, execute formatting and initialize the internal memory after replacement.

Method for Formatting the Internal Memory
Copies all images in the internal memory to a “Memory Stick Duo” media.
1 Insert a “Memory Stick Duo” media having sufficient free capacity.
2 Select [Copy] with v/V on the control button, then press z.The message “All data on internal memory will be copied” appears.
3 Select [OK] with v, then press z.Copying starts.
To cancel copyingSelect [Cancel] in step 3, then press z.
Use a fully charged battery pack. If you attempt to copy image files using a battery pack with little remaining charge, the battery pack may run out, causing copying to fail or possibly corrupting the data.
You cannot select images to copy. The original images in the internal memory are retained even after copying. To delete the contents of the
internal memory, remove the “Memory Stick Duo” media after copying, then format the internal memory ([Format] in [Internal Memory Tool]).
A new folder is created on the “Memory Stick Duo” media and all the data will be copied to it. You cannot choose a specific folder and copy images to it.
The (Print order) marks on the images are not copied.

Usually, the camera has been set so as to disable the data writing from the PC to the internal memory of the camera.This setting must be changed temporarily when the data is to be written to the internal memory such as a case after the board replacement.To change settings is enabled with using the writing enabler tool (WriteEnableTool) on the Adjust manual is activating from the Adjuststation.
Data writing method1) Start the Adjust manual from the Adjust station.
2) Click (WriteEnableTool) button.
3) Click “Activate Write Enable Mode” button.
4) Upon completion of the setting change, the following message will be displayed.
5) Return the driver to the original one, and connect the PC to the camera (USB mode: Mass Storage).6) Write the data read out into the PC to the internal memory of the camera.7) Disconnect the PC from the camera, and turn off the camera.
Note: By turning off the camera, the write enable setting is reset.

1-5. SELF-DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION
1-5-1. Self-diagnosis FunctionWhen problems occur while the unit is operating, the self-diagnosisfunction starts working, and displays on the LCD screen what todo.Details of the self-diagnosis functions are provided in the Instructionmanual.
1-5-2. Self-diagnosis DisplayWhen problems occur while the unit is operating, the LCD screenshows a 4-digit display consisting of an alphabet and numbers, whichblinks at 3.2 Hz. This 5-character display indicates the “repairedby:”, “block” in which the problem occurred, and “detailed code”of the problem.

1-6. PROCESS AFTER FIXING FLASH ERROR
When “FLASH error” (Self-diagnosis Code E : 91 : 01) occurs, to prevent any abnormal situation caused by high voltage, setting of the flashis changed automatically to disabling charge and flash setting.After fixing, this setting needs to be deactivated. Flash error code can be initialized by the operations on the HOME screen.
Method for Initializing the Flash Error Code
Initializes the setting to the default setting. Even if you execute this function, the images stored in the internal memory are retained.
1 Select [Initialize] with v/V on the control button, then press z.The message “Reset to default settings” appears.
2 Select [OK] with v, then press z.The settings are reset to the default setting.

1-1. SY-214基板交換時の注意
仕向けデータ補修用基板と交換する時,補修用基板に書かれている仕向けデータは元の設定と違っている場合があります。Adjust StationからAdjust Manualを起動させて「DESTINATION DATA WRITE」を実行させてください。
リストアデータ補修用基板と交換する時,交換前の基板よりデータを取得してください。データの取得はAdjust StationからAdjust Manualを起動させて「RESTORE DATA」を実行させてください。本機で取得されるデータは下記になります。・ USB SERIAL No.・ Angular Velocity Sensor
USBシリアルNo.セットは,1台毎に異なる固有のID(USB Serial No.)を書き込んだ後,出荷されています。新品の補修用基板には,このIDが書き込まれていないので,基板交換後にIDを入力する必要があります。Adjust StationからAdjust Manualを起動させて「USB SERIAL No. INPUT」を実行させてください。
角速度センサ補修用基板と交換する時,角速度センサ(SE401,SE402)の感度表示を書き留めてください。Adjust StationからAdjust Manualを起動させて「Angular velocity sensor sensitivity adj.」を実行させてください。
Note:SY-214基板のSE401,SE402感度表示は補修用基板にしか記載されておりません。
1-2. レンズ交換時の注意
レンズ交換時、補修用レンズ添付データシート掲載のPITCH/YAWデータを書き留めてください。Adjust StationからAdjust Manualを起動させて「Angular velocity sensor sensitivity adj.」を実行させてください。
Note:PITCH/YAWデー タは補修用部品にのみ記載されています。

1-3. 内蔵メモリーのデータコピーおよび消去方法内蔵メモリーのデータコピーまたは消去はホーム画面の操作から実行可能です。(消去する場合は内蔵メモリーの初期化を行います。)
Note1:SY-214基板交換の際は,基板交換前に内蔵メモリーのデータを消去して下さい。Note2:SY-214基板交換の際は,基板交換後に内蔵メモリーのフォーマットおよび初期化を実行して下さい。
内蔵メモリーのフォーマット方法
内蔵メモリーのコピー方法
コピー
内蔵メモリーに記録した画像を、“メモリースティックデュオ”に一括コピーします。
1 充分な空き容量のある“メモリースティックデュオ”を本体に入れる。2 コントロールボタンのv/Vで[コピー]を選び、中央のzを押す。 「内蔵メモリーのデータが全てコピーされます」というメッセージが表示される。3 vで[実行]を選び、中央のzを押す。 コピーが実行される。
コピーを中止するには手順3で、[キャンセル]を選び、中央のzを押す。
充分に充電したバッテリーをご使用ください。残量の少ないバッテリーを使用して画像ファイ ルをコピーすると、バッテリー切れのためデータを転送できなかったり、データを破損するお それがあります。 画像ごとのコピーはできません。 データをコピーしても、内蔵メモリー内のデータは削除されません。内蔵メモリーの内容を消 去するには、コピー後に“メモリースティックデュオ”を本体から取りはずし、[内蔵メモリー ツール]の[フォーマット]を行ってください。 データをコピーすると“メモリースティックデュオ”内に新しいフォルダが作成されます。コ ピー先のフォルダを指定することはできません。 データのコピーを行っても、(プリント予約)マークの設定はコピーされません。

フォーマット
内蔵メモリーの管理領域をフォーマット(初期化)します。 フォーマットすると、プロテクトしてある画像も含めて、すべてのデータが消去され、 元に戻せません。
1 コントロールボタンのv/Vで[フォーマット]を選び、中央のzを押す。 「内蔵メモリーのデータが全て消去されます」というメッセージが表示される。2 vで[実行]を選び、中央のzを押す。 フォーマットが実行される。

1-4. 内蔵メモリへデータを書き戻す方法通常は,PCからカメラの内蔵メモリへデータを書き込むことはできない設定になっています。基板交換後などに,内蔵メモリへデータを書き戻す場合には,この設定を一時的に変更する必要があります。設定の変更は,Adjust StationからAdjust Manualを起動させて書き込み許可ツール(WriteEnableTool)を使用します。
書き戻し方法1) Adjust StationからAdjust Manualを起動する。
2) (WriteEnableTool)ボタンをクリックする。
3) “Activate Write Enable Mode”ボタンをクリックする。
4) 設定の変更が終了すると,次のメッセージが表示されますので“OK”ボタンをクリックする。
5) ドライバを元に戻して、カメラとPCをマスストレージ接続する。6) PCに読み出しておいたデータをカメラの内蔵メモリに書き込む。7) カメラとPCの接続を解除し,カメラの電源をOFFにする。
注意: カメラの電源をOFFにすることにより,書き込み許可の設定が解除されます。

1-6. フラッシュエラー発生時の対処法本機はフラッシュエラー(自己診断コードE:91:01)が発生した場合,高電圧による異常を防止するために自動的にフラッシュ充電および発光禁止の設定になります。フラッシュエラー発生後はエラーの解除を行う必要があります。エラーの解除はホーム画面から初期化操作を実行することにより行います。

設定リセット
お買い上げ時の設定に戻します。[設定リセット]を実行しても、内蔵メモリーに記録されている画像は削除されません。
1 コントロールボタンのv/Vで[設定リセット]を選び、中央のzを押す。 「全ての設定内容をリセットします」というメッセージが表示される。2 vで[実行]を選び、中央のzを押す。 設定リセットが実行される。
設定リセットを中止するには手順2で、[キャンセル]を選び、中央のzを押す。
設定リセット中は電源が切れないようにご注意ください。

2. DISASSEMBLY
NOTE FOR REPAIR
• Make sure that the flat cable and flexible board are not cracked of bent at the terminal.Do not insert the cable insufficiently nor crookedly.
• When remove a connector, don’t pull at wire of connector. It is possible that a wire is snapped.
• When installing a connector, don’t press down at wire of connector.It is possible that a wire is snapped.
• Do not apply excessive load to the gilded flexible board.
Cut and remove the part of gilt which comes off at the point.(Be careful or some pieces of gilt may be left inside)
DISCHARGING OF THE AF-120 FLEXIBLE BOARD’S CHARGING CAPACITOR(C901)The charging capacitor (C901) of the AF-120 flexible board ischarged up to the maximum 315 V potential.There is a danger of electric shock by this high voltage when thecapacitor is handled by hand. The electric shock is caused bythe charged voltage which is kept without discharging when themain power of the unit is simply turned off. Therefore, theremaining voltage must be discharged as described below.
Preparing the Short JigTo preparing the short jig, a small clip is attached to each end ofa resistor of 1 kΩ /1 W (1-215-869-11).Wrap insulating tape fully around the leads of the resistor toprevent electrical shock.

Replace Zoom Gear Block if a damage of lens barrel due to a drop of camera is not found. (See "2-5-1. Zoom Gear Block Replacing Method") Replace Lens Block if such replacement does not improve the failure.2 "Turn off and on the power" is displayed after the "lens zooming in and out" operation over its full stroke was repeated 3 times. Replace Optical Stepping Motor. (See "2-5-2. Optical Stepping Motor Replacing Method") Replace Lens Block if such replacement does not improve the failure.
2-5-1. Zoom Gear Block Replacing Method
Removal1 Remove one screw.2 Remove Zoom Gear Block upward.3 Remove Naruto Gear (S).4 Disengage two claws A and B in this order to remove FG Plate Spring. Note: The FG Plate Spring cannot be reused.5 Remove two sensors on the lens flexible board.6 Break two solders, and remove the lens flexible board.
Installation1 Confirm the direction of Zoom Gear Block, and install the lens flexible board with two solders.2 Pass the lens flexible board through the mold of Zoom Gear Block to install two sensors.3 Engage two claws A and B in this order to install FG Plate Spring.4 Install Naruto Gear (S).5 With four bosses fitted in position, install Zoom Gear Block.6 Tighten one screw. * Tightening torque = 0.049 ± 0.01N • m (0.5 ± 0.1kgf • cm)
