MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB
Mary had a little lamb,
Little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,Its fleece was white as snow
Everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go
It followed her to school one day
School one day, school one dayIt followed her to school one day
Which was against the rules.
It made the children laugh and play,
Laugh and play, laugh and play,
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school
And so the teacher turned it out,
Turned it out, turned it out,
And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near
And waited patiently about,
Patiently about, patiently about,
And waited patiently about
Till Mary did appear
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
Love Mary so? Love Mary so?
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
The eager children cry
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."
Loves the lamb, you know, loves the lamb, you know
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know."The teacher did reply

THE ANIMAL FAIR
I went to the animal fair,
The birds and the beasts were there,The big baboon by the light of the moon
Was combing his auburn hair,
The monkey bumped the skunk,
And sat on the elephant's trunk;
The elephant sneezed and fell to his knees,
And that was the end of the monk,
The monk, the monk, the monk,
The monk, the monk, the monk.
Three Blind Mice
Three blind mice,
Three blind mice
See how they run,
See how they run!
They all ran after
The farmer's wife
She cut off their tails
With a carving knife
Did you ever see
Such a sight in your life
As three blind mice?
(Can also be sung as a round)

All Around The Mullberry Bush
Written by: Unknown Copyright: Unknown
All around the mulberry bush
The monkey chased the weasel.
The monkey thought 'twas all in fun.
Pop! goes the weasel.
A penny for a spool of thread,
A penny for a needle.
That's the way the money goes.
Pop! goes the weasel.
Up and down the City Road,
In and out of the Eagle,
That's the way the money goes.
Pop! goes the weasel.
Half a pound of tuppenney rice,
Half a pound of treacle,
Mix it up and make it nice,
Pop! goes the weasel

I've Been Working on the Railroad
I've been workin' on the railroad,
All the live long day.
I've been workin' on the railroad,
Just to pass the time away.
Don't you hear the whistle blowing?
Rise up so early in the morn.
Don't you hear the captain shouting
"Dinah, blow your horn?"
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn?
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn?
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah.
Someone's in the kitchen, I know.
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah
Strumming on the old banjo.
Fee, fie, fiddle-e-i-o.
Fee, fie, fiddle-e-i-o-o-o-o.
Fee, fie, fiddle-e-i-o.Strumming on the old banjo.

O Susanna
Traditional
Written By: Stephen Foster
Copyright Unknown
I came from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee,I'm goin' to Louisiana
My true love for to see;
It rained all night the day I left,
The weather it was dry;
The sun so hot I froze to death;
Susanna, don't you cry.
O, Susanna,O, don't you cry for me,
I've come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee.
O, Susanna,
O, don't you cry for me,
'Cause I'm goin' to Louisiana,
My true love for to see.
I had a dream the other night
When ev'rything was still;
I thought I saw Susanna
A-comin' down the hill;
The buckwheat cake was in her mouth,
The tear was in her eye;
Says I, I'm comin' from the south,
Susanna, don't you cry.

O, Susanna,
O, don't you cry for me,
I've come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee.O, Susanna,
O, don't you cry for me,
'Cause I'm goin' to Louisiana,
My true love for to see.
I soon will be in New Orleans,
And then I'll look around,
And when I find Susanna
I'll fall upon the ground.
And if I do not find her,
Then I will surely die,
And when I'm dead and buried,
Susanna, don't you cry.
O, Susanna,
O, don't you cry for me,
I've come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee.
O, Susanna,
O, don't you cry for me,
'Cause I'm goin' to Louisiana,
My true love for to see.

In the Good Old Summer Time
Traditional
Written By: Ren Shields
Music By: George Evans
Copyright Unknown
There's a time in each year
That we always hold dear,
Good old summer time;
With the birds and the treeses
And sweet-scented breezes,
Good old summer time.
When your day's work is over
Then you are in clover,And life is one beautiful rhyme,
No trouble annoying
Each one is enjoying,
The good old summer time.
In the good old summer time,
In the good old summer time,
Strolling thro' the shady lanes,
With your baby mine;
You hold her hand and she holds yours,
And that's a very good sign
That she's your tootsey wootseyIn the good old summer time.
To swim in the pool,
You'd play "hooky" from school,
Good old summer time;
You'd play "ring-a-rosie"
With Jim, Kate and Josie,
Good old summer time,
Those days full of pleasure
We now fondly treasure,
When we never thought it a crime,To go stealing cherries,
With face brown as berries,
Good old summer time.
In the good old summer time,
In the good old summer time,
Strolling thro' the shady lanes,
With your baby mine;
You hold her hand and she holds yours,
And that's a very good sign
That she's your tootsey wootsey
In the good old summer time.

Dixie Land
Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land.
In Dixie Land where I was born in
Early on one frosty mornin'
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land.
Oh, I wish I was in Dixie! Hooray! Hooray!
In Dixie Land I'll take my stand
To live and die in Dixie
Away, away, away down south in Dixie
Away, away, away down south in Dixie!
Old Missus marry Will, the weaver,
William was a gay deceiver
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land.
But when he put his arm around her
He smiled as fierce as a forty pounder
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land.
His face was sharp as a butcher's cleaver
But that did not seem to grieve her
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land.Old Missus acted the foolish part
And died for a man that broke her heart
Look away! Look away! Look away!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame
Written By: Jack Norworth & Albert Von Tilzer
Copyright Unknown
Take me out
To the ball game
Take me out
With the crowd
Buy me some peanuts
And Crackerjack
I don't care if
I never never get back
Let me root, root root
For the home team
If they don't win
It's a shame
For it's one, two,
Three strikes you're out
At the old ball game!

THIS OLD MAN
This old man, he played one,
He played knick-knack on my thumb;
Knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played two,
He played knick-knack on my shoe;
Knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played three,
He played knick-knack on my knee;
Knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played four,
He played knick-knack on my door;
Knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played five,
He played knick-knack on my hive;
Knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played six,
He played knick-knack on my sticks;
Knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played seven,
He played knick-knack up in Heaven;
Knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.
This old man, he played eight,
He played knick-knack on my gate;
Knick-knack paddywhack,
Give a dog a bone,
This old man came rolling home.

Man on the Flying Trapeze
Traditional
Written By: George LeybourneCopyright Unknown
Once I was happy,
But now I'm forlorn,
Like an old coat
That is tattered and torn;
Left in this wide world
To weep and to mourn,
Betrayed by a maid in her teens.
Now this girl that I loved,
She was handsome,
And I tried all I knew
Her to please,
But I never could please her
One quarter so well
As the man on the flying trapeze.
Oh, he floats through the air
With the greatest of ease,
This daring young man
On the flying trapeze;
His actions are graceful,
All girls he does please,
My love he has purloined away.
He'd play with a miss
Like a cat with a mouse,
His eyes would undress
Every girl in the house.Perhaps he is better

Described as a louse,
But the people they came just the same.
Oh, he'd smile from his perch
On the people below
And one day he
Smiled on my love.
She blew him a kiss
And she hollered, "Bravo!"
As he hung by his nose up above.
Oh, he floats through the air
With the greatest of ease,
This daring young man
On the flying trapeze;His actions are graceful,
All girls he does please,
My love he has purloined away.
Oh, I wept and I whimpered,
I simpered for weeks,
While she spent her time
With the circus's freaks.
The tears were like hailstones
That rolled down my cheeks,
Alas, and alack, and alacka!
I went to this fellow,
The blackguard, and said,
"I'll see that you get
Your desserts!"
He put up his thumb to his nose
With a sneer,
He sneered once again, and said, "Nertz!"
Oh, he floats through the air
With the greatest of ease,
This daring young man
On the flying trapeze;
His actions are graceful,
All girls he does please,
My love he has purloined away.
One night to his tentHe invited her in,

He filled her with compliments,
Kisses, and gin
And started her out
On the road to ruin,
Since then l have known no repose.
But e'en now l loved her, I said,
"Take my name!
I'll gladly forgive
And forget;"
She rustled her bustle
Without any shame,
Saying, "Well, maybe later, not yet."
Oh, he floats through the airWith the greatest of ease,
This daring young man
On the flying trapeze;
His actions are graceful,
All girls he does please,
My love he has purloined away.
One night as usual
I went to her home,
And found there
Her father and mother alone,
I asked for my love,
And it soon was made known,
To my horror, that she'd run away.
Without any trousseau,
She'd fled in the night
With him with the
Greatest of ease,
From two stories high
He'd lowered her down
To the ground on his flying trapeze.
Oh, he floats through the air
With the greatest of ease,
This daring young man
On the flying trapeze;
His actions are graceful,
All girls he does please,My love he has purloined away.

Some months after that
I went into a hall,
And to my surprise
I found there on the wall,
A bill in red letters
Which did my heart gall,
That she was appearing with him.
Oh, he'd taught her gymnastics,
And dressed her in tights,
To help him to live
At his ease,
He'd made her take on
A masculine name,And now she goes on the trapeze.
Oh, she floats through the air
With the greatest of ease,
You'd think her a man
On the flying trapeze,
She does all the work
While he takes his ease,
And that's what's become of my love.
Daisy, Daisy
Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do.I'm half crazy all for the love of you.
It won't be a stylish marriage,I can't afford a carriage.
But you'll look sweet,
Upon the seat,Of a bicycle made for two.
Michael, Micheal, here is your answer true.I'm not crazy all for the love of you.
There won't be any marriage,if you can't afford a carriage.
'Cause I'll be switched,if I get hitched,
on a bicycle built for two!"

The Blue Tail Fly (Jimmy Crack Corn)
When I was young I used to waitOn master and hand him his plate
Pass him the bottle when he got dryAnd brush away the blue-tail fly
Chorus= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Jimmy crack corn, and I don't careJimmy crack corn, and I don't careJimmy crack corn, and I don't care
My master's gone away= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
When he would ride in the afternoonI'd follow him with my hickory broom
The pony being rather shyWhen bitten by the blue-tail fly
Chorus
One day he rode around the farmFlies so numerous that they did swarmOne chanced to bite him on the thigh
The devil take the blue-tail fly
Chorus
Well the pony jumped, he start, he pitchHe threw my master in the ditch
He died and the jury wondered whyThe verdict was the blue-tail fly
Chorus
Now he lies beneath the 'simmon treeHis epitaph is there to see
"Beneath this stone I'm forced to lieThe victim of the blue-tail fly"

The Mail Must Go Through.
When you mail a letter, you can send it anywhere.
On foot, by truck, or aeroplane, the postman gets it there.
So write a letter to your friend, maybe she'll write you.No matter what you always know, the mail must go through.
Well, the mail must go through.
The mail must go through.
No matter if it rains or snows, the mail must go through.
I said the mail must go through.
The mail must go through.
No matter if it rains or snows, the mail must go through.Some folks live in a city, some live in a little town.
And even if you live out on a farm, there's a postman making his rounds.
So mail someone a letter, even just a card will do.
You know it's nice when the postman has a letter in his sack for you
Home on the Range
Written By: Brewster Higley, Music By: Daniel Kelley,Copyright: Unknown
Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam
And the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day
Home, home on the range
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day
How often at night when the heavens are bright
With the light from the glittering stars
Have I stood there amazed and asked as I gazed
If their glory exceeds that of ours
Home, home on the range
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day
Where the air is so pure, the zephyrs so freeThe breezes so balmy and light

Oh, I love those wild flow'rs in this dear land of ours
The curlew, I love to hear scream

A BYCICLE BUILT FOR TWO
Daisy, Daisy,Give me your answer, do,
I'm half crazy,All for the love of you.
It won't be a stylish marriage,I can't afford a carriage,
But you'll look sweet,Upon the seat
Of a bicycle built for two.
''Bicycle Built For Two'' also known as ''Daisy Daisy'' is a well known song from the 19th
century but surprisingly, it's lyrics ("Daisy, Daisy/Give me your answer do/I'm halfcrazy/all for the love of you" as well as the line "...a bicycle built for two") are more
famously known compared to the song's actual title "Daisy Bell".
"Daisy Bell" was composed by English composer Harry Dacre in 1892 and gained its
popularity from performances in London music halls.

Dream away the hours
When you wake, the sun will come
To smile upon the flowers
Go to sleep, my little friend
Beneath the evening star
You will always have a friend
No matter where you are.

I'm a Policeman dressed in blue
Here are some things I like to do
Direct the traffic in your town
Help to keep you safe and sound
It's my job and I like it fine

Dixie
Dixie" was written by Daniel Decatur Emmett of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and
premiered in September of 1859 in New York. According to an article by Mike
Petee in the Knox County Observer, Mount Vernon, Ohio, Dan Emmett learned to
play various instruments at a young age, including the banjo, fife, fiddle and a small
drum. He was enlisted in a Minstrel group when they stopped in Mount Vernon
and needed a replacement for a sick player, beginning a long musical career.
Although best known as the song adopted by the Confederacy, "Dixie" was also
Abraham Lincoln's favorite song, and it was played at his inauguration. Even
though Abe Lincoln loved and supported the song, Dan Emmett was ostracized in
the North for writing a song associated with the South. In his last performance in
Mount Vernon, it is reported that he cried when he was warmly welcomed and
given a standing ovation as it's writer.It is still considered to be one of the top two
or three songs associated with the history of this country.
And although the song is credited to Emmett, he had indicated that the melody was
partially inspired by a tune his mother sung to him as a child; and others believe a
similar tune was sung around plantations and around the Mississippi River for
several generations. In the original version shown for the second line of the first
verse below, the words "cinnamon seed and sandy bottom" were referred to by the
soldiers when they reached an area in Missouri where they found catfish and
sassafras for tea for sale.
Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton,Old times there are not forgotten, {Alt Original:Cinnamon seed and sandy
bottom,]Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land.
In Dixie Land, where I was born in,early on one frosty mornin',
Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land.
I wish I was in Dixie, Hooray! Hooray!In Dixie Land I'll take my stand
