HOLIDAY RALLY All Saints School Weymouth

A beautiful site overlooking Portland bay with bus stops just outside the school and Weymouth just down the road with many shop's & shopping centre. Through out the rally there were plenty of places to visit including the sea life centre with the land train that ran down to the tower where you could go up the observation tower for a birds eye view of Weymouth, fishing trips, Swanage railway ,Chesil beach & much more There were socials held in the evening where we gathered in the marquee on Monday night we played one in the pot where you have 3x 20p pieces to start & throw 3 dice if it lands with a P showing you put it in the pot and the money goes to the charity

On Wednesday evening we had a couple of games of beetle drive where you shake the dice and the number on the dice corresponds to a beetle part you start with a 6 for a body then add the rest of the parts on to it the winner's of both of the games was the shorties (of course no cheating allowed) after a few drinks we got round to talking about the centre charity and how to raise some money so we came up with the idea of a leg wax to be held on Thursday evening and the two volunteers were Mark Bown & the chairman Pete Marsden (brave people)

PETRUTH PADDOCK'S CHEDDAR

A nice flat 10 acre site which nestles at the foot of the Mendip hill's with Cheddar village & Cheddar gorge close enough to walk to with a good variety of shop's, restaurants & caves, On Friday evening it was fish & chip's night where the rally officers took our orders and went and got them for us at a good price. Saturday was a free & easy day to do what you please you could walk into cheddar drive to the garden centre just down the road or go to Weston super Mare / Burnham on sea or Bristol flag was at 6:30 on Saturday evening followed by a bacon butty cooked by the rally officers there was also 2 anniversaries Carol & Phil Webber 38 year's and Clive & Carol Pembury 45 years, with 15 units on site. During Saturday night, laying in bed, all I could hear was some one shouting fire, fire, I jumped out of bed opened the door only to find the barn well a blaze.

After going over to have a look & getting back to the van all you could smell that night was the smoke from the barn. on Sunday morning early there was a big car boot sale just behind the go-kart racing circuit, over the stile turn right & keep going where there was bargain’s to be had, Sunday afternoon myself & carol went up to the Mendip raceway at the charter house to watch the banger racing (cold up there) on top of the hill. In the evening we sat around and played the 3 dice game one in the pot where the winner keeps half the winnings & the rest goes to the charity PETAL
