Some words from the Cellarman, With all the technological progress we have made we might have expected to have eliminated most of life’s stresses and strains. Oh but that this were true. Never has there been more need for us to slow down and take a moment to smell the roses. A glass of wine in convivial company is a very good place to start. The wide range of wines on our list is set out by style rather than by region. Too many wine lists put pretension ahead of clarity and this often leads to conservative choices by the understandably bamboozled drinker. We hope our format will encourage you to experiment with new grapes from new countries made by sometimes small but excellent producers. The list features wines from all over the world and each one represents quality and value at every price level. Please ask if you would like further guidance on any particular wine. We try to keep abreast of vintage changes. Occasionally we may need to serve the follow-on vintage but we try to ensure it is of at least equal quality to the vintage listed. Towards the back of the list we have a selection of half bottles for those of more restrained (or driver-curtailed) drinking habits, and we have recently introduced the service of the increasingly popular Prosecco by the mini-bottle (200ml). Many of our chosen wines are also vegan; we have placed a symbol next to the wine to show you. Wine is to be enjoyed, so if you don’t like what you are drinking, for whatever reason, send it back. Unless it is actually corked (and this does happen), I will drink it for you at no charge whatsoever. Cheers! Miles & Tommy Hunter

Some words from the Cellarman,

With all the technological progress we have made we might have expected to have eliminated

most of life’s stresses and strains. Oh but that this were true. Never has there been more need

for us to slow down and take a moment to smell the roses. A glass of wine in convivial company

is a very good place to start.

The wide range of wines on our list is set out by style rather than by region. Too many wine

lists put pretension ahead of clarity and this often leads to conservative choices by the

understandably bamboozled drinker. We hope our format will encourage you to experiment with

new grapes from new countries made by sometimes small but excellent producers. The list

features wines from all over the world and each one represents quality and value at every price

level. Please ask if you would like further guidance on any particular wine.

We try to keep abreast of vintage changes. Occasionally we may need to serve the follow-on

vintage but we try to ensure it is of at least equal quality to the vintage listed. Towards the back

of the list we have a selection of half bottles for those of more restrained (or driver-curtailed)

drinking habits, and we have recently introduced the service of the increasingly popular

Prosecco by the mini-bottle (200ml).

Many of our chosen wines are also vegan; we have placed a symbol next to the wine to show

you.

Wine is to be enjoyed, so if you don’t like what you are drinking, for whatever reason, send it

back. Unless it is actually corked (and this does happen), I will drink it for you at no charge

whatsoever.

Cheers!

Miles & Tommy Hunter

CHAMPAGNES AND SPARKLING WINES The Champagne region of France lies to the east of Paris, in the Marne Valley. The vineyards are strictly defined by French law and

are found mostly south of Rheims, around Epernay. Surprisingly, Champagne can be made from red as well as white grapes. Each

House produces a wine with a style and character of its own. A delicious alternative to Champagne, sparkling wines are made by a

variety of methods - Méthode Traditionnelle being the best, of course, as it follows the same process as that for Champagne.
