    100 Series System

The 100 Series of Escape Chute Storage/Deployment containers were ini tiallydesigned for applications within the Mining Industry, where a need to evacuatehigh areas on mobil e mining equipment had been identifi ed.

    Walkway/Catwalk Mounted Industrial Escape Chutes

The system was designed to sit between the hand railing on the walkway /catwalk outsi de the machine operators cabin, allowing the machine operator toevacuate the area in under 10 seconds.

These systems are now installed in other indust rial high areas.

    Model No 101

Model No 101 designed in 1999, for fitment to Hydrauli c & Electric Shovels , is stil lproduced today with minor changes.

Weighing 185kgs and suitable for operational heights of up to 10 meters.

    Model No 102

Model No 102 designed in 2003 for fitment to Loaders, is identical to 101, but hasextended legs for fitment to the fuel tank below.

Weighing 190 kgs and sui table for operational height s of up to 10 meters

    Model No 105

Model No 105 Is identical to 101, other than its s ize has been reduced to allowfitment onto Mining Trucks

Wei htin 150 k s and sui table for o erat ional hei hts of 8 meters

    Model No 107

Model No 107 is currently under development, and will be produced for Mining Trucks, withits weight being half that of Model No 105.

Its annual service and safety check will be cut drastically, by allowing the red chutecontainer to be removed and relaced by an off s ite serviced unit, it s just a case of releasingfour bolts and carrying out the change over.

    200 Series System

The 200 Series of Escape Chute Stor age/Deployment containers are a basic boxtype container that sits at foot level, this foo t level can be onto a steel platform

    Floor Mounted Escape Chutes

    pro ru ng ou rom e s e o a s ruc ure, ommerc a , es en a or n us r a .

It can also be installed into the floor of an existing structure.

Our standard si ze has the box being approx 900mm wide X 900mm long, with thedepth being what ever it takes to ho ld the volume of the chute.

There is of course a limit t o this, this is w hen it becomes too diff icult t o shut thechute door f rom inside the container, when this happens we will then have toincrease the width or the length, or possibly both.

    200 Series System - Continued

Hear we show Model No 207 where theclient required the chute cont ainer to bematt black.

container is red and the chute door yellow.

Note the SS chute door retrieval handle onthe left of the open chute container.

Too retri eve the chute door the chute must,

the door and pul led up, slamming the chutedoor shut.

The chute is then repacked into thecontainer and the system is ready foroperational use.

    300 Series System

Emergency Services Escape ChutesEscape Chutes can be attached to Fire Department Ari el Platforms in a fewways, the selection is decided by the configur ation of the Ariel Platform asdesigned and supplied by the manufacture of t he Ariel Platform, or by the FireDepartment wi shing to ut ilize the escape chute in a certain manner on the ArielPlatform.

The original method w as to hang the Chute Platform on the outside of the ArielPlatform, then let the Ariel Platform approach the evacuees, once there the

evacuees then entered the chute directly from the evacuation point.

Ar iel Plat fo rm, which approaches the evacuation poin t, the evacuees thenboard the Ariel Platform and make their way to the rear and the escape chute.

Some even have the chute mounted into the floor or an outside platform.

total weight of the system, the fire department personnel and the evacueesmust be taken into account.

It should be noted that the maximum load that can be placed on an ArielPlatform is around 440kgs

The average escape chute and aluminium platfor m (65 meters) will have a totalweight o f 165kgs

The weight o f a Fire Department Personnel would be around 95kgs, thi s thenonly leaves 180kgs that the total evacuees must weight .

This means that onl two evacuees can be in the chute or on the Ariel Platformat any one time.

    Transportable Escape Chutes - Vertical

Every now and then Escape Chute Systems is presented with a potent ialapplication where the client w ishes the escape chute to have the ability to bemoved from one location to another.

This can be done providing the movement is all on the same level.

What you are about to see is conceptual only, to date we have not produced atransportable system.

    Multi-Entry Escape Chutes - Internal

The application of Multi-Entry Escape Chutes has expanded quit e a lot s inceits inception 1976.We now have system that travel through the floor from one level to another

.There are system that have incorporated a steel frame work down the outs ide ofa buildi ng, and Escape Chute Systems has developed the METS (Multi-EntryTube Systems) where a steel tube approx 1400 1600mm in diameter is locatedin sections equal to each floor height on the outside of the building.

Like all escape chute applications, the type of system selected is muchdependant on the actual building and the clients wishes.

A int ernal sys tem incorporatingbrick built walls, fire doors andemergency g ng.

    METS Multi-Entry Tube System

Here we show a standard tube, generally the only part that changes from oneapplication to another is the height of the tube, which matches the individualfloor heights.

The entrance may also change slightly, to accommodate the structure to which

the METS is being applied too.

Roof Top ApplicationRoof top systems wi ll generally take the form of a heavy duty base frame, fit tedwith cover that allows t he evacuees to enter without seeing how high they are,and a container that holds the chute.

This format may change from time to time to suite individual structur e andclients needs.

Here we show sevenchutes volumes from 5meters in length throughto 100 meters.

This is to give you someindication as to the size ofthe chutestorage/deployment devicefor each size of chute.
