Aim of document

This paper aims to make a comparison between an address search and a routing search calculated by the Wegoto apps (proposed by Wegoto) and Here Maps – GPS hors-ligne (proposed by HERE Apps LLC). The comparison is made on the Android operating system in 5.1.1 version.

Finding placeThe desired location was chosen on the university Grenoble Alpes area. This desired location is IM2AG, located at 41 rue mathématiques, 38400 Saint

Martin d'Heres. Both applications offer a predictive search based on previous research.

With this query, Here Maps offers 3 results, none of which exactly corresponds to the requested address (illustration 3, 4 et 5). For the same query, Wegoto gives 5 results, which each one identify doors of buildings and indicating the level of access to the entrie (illustration 6, 7 et 8).

Calculating routeA pedestrian route was then calculated between another campus building (DLST, bâtiment F, 435 rue de la physique, 38400 Saint Martin d’Hères) and the

previous search. Here Maps offers a 835 meters route passing mainly on the roads whileWegoto proposed a 821 meters routepassing on the sidewalks, crossing atcrosswalks and indicating access difficulties which can be encountered during the journey. Remember also that Wegoto guide to the building’s door while HereMaps only offers the route to the center of the building, so the nearest road to the building.
