Semi-dynamic TBOM

No manual effort through

background processing (overnight)

High precision

Repeatable at any time

In the past, dynamic TBOMs were created by recording user actions or existing test scripts with substantial

effort

A new type of TBOM is introduced in SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 – “Semi-Dynamic TBOMs”

Semi-dynamic TBOMs can be created automatically

A background job can be triggered where a source code scan is performed on managed system and

unused objects are filtered out (based on Usage and Procedure Logging – UPL data)

For SP10, customers are recommended to use the classical Business Process Monitoring to leverage all existing

BPMon functions. Solutions with BPMon on MAI can be configured as a prototype.

Special Note on Limitations for Business Process Monitoring based

on MAI with SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP10

Not all functions from “classical” Business Process Monitoring are available yet for BPMon on MAI in SP10. Gaps are

planned to be closed with future SAP Solution Manager support package releases. The following functions are not yet

fully enabled in the new architecture:

• Not all data collectors are yet enabled for BPMon on MAI. On SP10, all monitors in the application monitoring

infrastructure and job monitoring are available for BPMon on MAI. Further data providers (Application Log, Update

Error, Other CCMSetc.) are planned be enabled in the future. In addition, alerting based on Analytics data is not yet

available in SP10

• BPMon Notifications: Text BAdIs cannot be reused yet and only fixed notification content without any option

for individual configuration

• BPMon mass maintenance function is not yet available (via the `Monitoring Object List´)

• BW Reporting for BPMon alerts is not yet integrated

• BPMon customizing copy is not yet available

• Migration of solutions from ‘classical BPMon’ to ‘BPMon on MAI’ is not yet supported (planned)

• Template functions are not yet integrated into MAI. Templates such as monitoring activities, analysis tools, alert

parameter sets and notification templates cannot be maintained for BPMon on MAI
