Test Installation
Where to install the outside antenna? The position, where the outside antenna is installed, it can bring a significant impact on the booster performance.
To point directly the cell tower, it aims to receive the best signal and prevent the signal interference.
The higher position, it might avoid the impact caused by the big obstruction between the house and the cell tower.
ATTENTION: If the house is metal siding, do NOT install the outside antenna or the outside unit directly on it. Keep away from metal surface as much as you can.
When installing the booster and the antennas, we do require Minimum Separation Distance between the outside antenna and the inside antenna.
Minimum Required Separation Distance:6 meters (20 ft ) distance and 4 meters ( 13 ft ) vertical height distance. (see Self Oscillation section) For some critical location, it might requires further separation.

Test Installation:Doing a test installation of a cell phone booster, it allows you to experiment different scenarios to determine your optimal system setup. SolidRF STRONGLY recommends doing a test installation before the permanent installation.
Why? 1. To decide where to place the outside antenna, the booster and the inside antenna.
2. To determine Route the cable inside the house.
3. Doing a test installation will simplify the process if the system you purchased was not ideal for your situation. In this event, please contact us by email, [email protected]
Quick Installation
Find the Strongest Signal1
Use your cell phone to find where the strongest signal is around your house. Check the signal bar on your cell phone, or try to download. Please be patient and repeat the signal check multiple times. We STRONGLY recommend a test installation first before anything is permanently secured.
Exterior Antenna Installation2
Mount the exterior antenna on the roof (recommended) of an outside wall where is without obstruction. Connecting the coax cable to the antenna, then secured by waterproof tape.
Connect to Inside Unit3
Connect the coax cable from the exterior antenna to the inside unit; Connect the interior antenna onto the inside unit.
Setup Inside unit4
It aims to create sufficient isolation between two antennas, you should maintain at least 13 feet(4 meters) vertical distance and 20 feet(6 meters) horizontal distance between two antennas.
Antennas Installation Recommended
Antennas Installation Prohibited
It MUST satisfy the separation distance requirement.
Do NOT point the outside antenna to inside.
If the vertical separation distance could be over 6 meters (20 ft.), the horizontal separation distance can be less.
Plug the Power Adapter5
Plug the AC power adapter to the inside unit. It recommends to use a surge protected power strip for the device. If the booster is installed correctly and working properly, the power light would be solid green. NOTE: If there is any question or concern, please refer to the troubleshooting or contact us at [email protected]
Antennas Installation Prohibited
Do NOT point the outside antenna to any big obstructive, like building, hill, tree or wall.

ATTENTION: Self Oscillation
We strongly recommend it must achieve the Minimum Required Separation Distance for the installation. The improper installation could result in possible Self Oscillation.
Minimum Required Separation Distance (MRSD):6 meters (20 ft ) distance and 4 meters ( 13 ft ) vertical height distance.
When the antennas are too close, they could pick up each others signals, creating a feedback loop condition, which is called Self Oscillation.
By FCC regulations, the cell phone booster would automatically detect this condition and immediately shut down to prevent Self Oscillation from damaging the cellular network.(see TroubleShooting)
What is Self Oscillation:
If the booster detects Self Oscillation, it will not operate until the condition is corrected. One way to correct Self Oscillation is to increase separation distance between the antennas until the sufficient separation distance is achieved. Also the antennas can NOT directly face each other.
How to correct Self Oscillation:
The Self Oscillation could cause interference to the cellular network, The FCC regulations extremely prohibit cell phone booster users from causing interference to the cellular networks. If you were contacted by the FCC or any wireless provider – yours or any other – and told your cell phone booster is causing interference, you must shut it down until you can fix the interference problem. Under most situation, it is Self Oscillation problem. Please refer to: https://www.fcc.gov/wireless-telecommunications/signal-boosters/faq/signal-boosters-faq.
Why is it so important to prevent Self Oscillation:
STEP BY STEP INSTALLATIONStep 1: Mount the booster outside unita. Choose right position• Find the strongest signal position in the
possible install locations by reading your cell phone signal bar (see Find Strongest Signal)
• Stay away from any big metallic objects• 100 cm away from any windowsb. Connect the cables as required (see the
picture below)• The booster outside unit is integrated with
the exterior antenna and the signal amplifier, ideal to improve system performance.
• Make sure connectors are well screwed in
c.Mount the booster outside unit on the mount pole (not included) with U bolt. The outside unit is recommend to install on the mount pole over the roof, it would help to provide sufficient isolation between two antennas.
Installation - Step By Step
How does it worksStep 1: The powerful outside antenna captures a voice and data signal and transfers it to the booster.Step 2: The booster receives the signal, amplifies it and then rebroadcasts the signal by the inside antenna.Step 3: Your mobile devices will get a better signal, never experiencing dropped calls or slow data speed.
Supported Carriers• AT&T 2G/3G (HSPA+)/4G*• Verizon 3G/4G• T-Mobile 2G/3G/4G*• Sprint 3G/4G• US Cellular 3G• Metro PCS 3G/4G* • Major Canadian Carriers 2G/3G• All other carriers using 700MHz/850MHz and
1900 MHzCoverage AreaNote: Any cell phone booster has a limit of amplification power. This depends on the original output power of the closest cell tower.
Power levelat the outdoor antenna location
Coverage Area(sq. ft.)
Strong (5 bars on the cellphone) 3000
Medium (3~4 bars on the cellphone) 1200
Weak (1~2 bars on the cellphone) 300
Conduct a Test InstallationConduct a test instillation to ensure correct product functioning before permanently installing the booster.
The test instillation will help to determine the best location for the inner and outer antenna and additionally the routing cable
Step 3: Power on the booster• Plug the power adapter into the power port
on the booster.• Then plug into a surge protector power strip.
WARNING:
• Do NOT cover the booster body with anything. This prevents it from cooling down. If the product becomes overheated, it will automatically shut off or cause permanent damage.
• Use only the power supply provided by SolidRF. Any other non-approved products by SolidRF of self-made power cables may damage the booster.
• Connecting the booster directly to the cell phone with use of an adapter will damage the cell phone.
• The booster is designed for use in indoor ONLY.
• Ensure that neither you nor the pole comes near any power lines during installation.
• The outside antenna must be installed no higher than 10 meters (32’9”) above ground.
Installation - Step By Step
• Set the outside antenna cable into the building
• Carefully arrange the cable along the outside of the building and ensure that there are no folds or kinks
• Fix the cable at each corner
Step 2: Arrange the inside unita. Choose right position• Stay away from any other metallic objects• 50 cm away from any windows• Be sure to be far from any heat source• In a ventilated dry place, temperature range
should be from -20 ℃ to +50 ℃• The inside antenna should be facing the
location of the signal dead zone/weak signal area inside the building
b. Screw the outside cable’s connector to the “ANT2” port of the booster
c. Screw the inside antenna to the “ANT1” port

Technical Specification
This device complies with Part 15 of FCC rules. Operation is subject to two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by SolidRF could void the authority to operate this equipment.
RF Exposure: The manufacturer’s rated output power of this equipment is for signal carrier operation. For situations when multiple carrier signals are present, the rating would have to be reduced by 3.5 dB, especially where the output is reradiated and can cause interference to adjacent band users. This power reduction is to be by means of input power or gain reduction and not by an attenuating at the output of the device.
