DESCRIPTION

The Holiday 2015 edition (with song lyrics written to the tunes of well-known holiday songs) of the songbook for the Solidarity Sing Along, which has been an ongoing singing protest in the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison since March 2011, shortly after the occupation of the Capitol in protest against Governor Walker's "Budget Repair Bill," which later became the infamous Act 10. The SSA has continued every weekday at noon at the Capitol (inside or outside -- outside on Fridays) as a continuing protest against the continuing attacks by the government on the working class people of the state of Wisconsin. If you'd like to print out a double-sided copy to be stapled in the middle like a booklet (this should print out on regular letter-sized paper to be folded the long way and stapled in the middle, which should only require a standard-sized stapler), here's a PDF file formatted for that purpose:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8ri2kBUdIXWYzBMeVQwVjliTGM/view?usp=sharing

-1- Rouse The Spirit

(Tune: Deck The Halls)

Rouse the spirit of La Folly Fa la la la la, la la la la Tis the season to be jolly Fa la la la la, la la la la

Don we now blue fist apparel Fa la la, la la la, la la la As we sing this protest carol Fa la la la la, la la la la

With Robin Vos and Scott Fitzgerald Fa la la la la, la la la la Liberties are so imperiled Fa la la la la, la la la la

Follow me, no time for leisure Fa la la la la, la la la la While I fight for rights I treasure Fa la la la la, la la la la

Fast away the bad year passes Fa la la la la, la la la la Hail the new gov, lads and lasses Fa la la la la, la la la la

Now we celebrate the season Fa la la la la, la la la la Replacing fear with love and reason Fa la la la la, la la la la

-28- Solidarity Forever

When the Union’s inspiration Through the workers’ blood shall run There can be no power greater Anywhere beneath the sun Yet what force on earth is weaker Than the feeble strength of one? But the Union makes us strong! CHORUS: Solidarity Forever Solidarity Forever Solidarity Forever For the Union makes us strong! They have taken untold trillions That they never toiled to earn But without our brain and muscle Not a single wheel can turn We can break their haughty power Gain our freedom when we learn That the Union makes us strong! CHORUS They say our day is over And they say our time is through They say you need no Union If your collar isn’t blue Well, that is just another lie The boss is telling you For the Union makes us strong! CHORUS They divide us by our color They divide us by our tongue They divide us men and women They divide us old and young But they’ll tremble at our voices When they hear these verses sung For the Union makes us strong! CHORUS (twice)

-2- Holly Jolly Noon Hour

(Tune: Holly Jolly Christmas)

Have a holly jolly Noon hour It’s the best time of the day Walker isn’t out of here So I guess we’re gonna stay Have a holly jolly Noon hour Stay and battle for your rights Don’t run off to Canada Though you like their Northern Lights Hoo-ray the Guv won’t go To Washington D.C. His 70-day presidential run Feels like our victory! Have a holly jolly Noon Hour And in case you didn’t hear Unless Walker’s out You should have no doubt We’ll be back this time next year!

-27- It Came Upon

A Midnight Vote (Tune: Away In A Manger)

It came upon a midnight vote The ending of our John Doe From pirates desperate to stay afloat And fill their pockets with gold! "Piss on the statutes, we don’t care Corruption is our precious King!" The courts in partisan stillness lie With no indictments to bring Still to the Capitol dome they come With songbooks, and banners unfurled And every weekday the music floats Above their criminal world Across the prairies and lovely plains Through every Capitol wing Where greed, corruption, and graft now reign Devoted citizens sing Now with these votes for pain and strife Wisconsin hath stumbled along Beneath the citizen-strain have rolled Almost six years of wrong One man, at war with good, hears not The love song which they bring Now cease these crimes, you man of strife And hear the people sing For lo, his term is hastening on As goodness and decency swarm And, thanks to ever-circling throngs Shall come progressive reform When Bob LaFollette’s idea, reborn Its timeless splendors fling And all Wisconsin will sing the song Which now the protesters sing

Page 5: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-3- Walker The Heartless

Gov’nor (Tune: Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer)

Scotty, the heartless Gov’nor Used to take away our rights And if you ever saw him You’d have raised your fist to fight All of the other people Used to join the sing-along They didn’t want Scott Walker To stick around and do more wrong

Then one cold Wisconsin day People came to say "Walker, with your heartless laws Leave our house and shut the door"

Folks will carol at the Noon hour ‘Til they can shout out with glee "Walker, you were once a nightmare But now you’re toast and history"

-26- A Campaign Of Failure

(Tune: Away In A Manger) With stories quite folksy 'Bout shopping at Kohl's The sleepy-eyed bald guy Rose high in the polls Then over in Iowa The voters awoke The drip from Wisconsin Became a big joke He said he supported Canadian walls That beating up grannies Would show he had balls He flip-flopped on birthright Then flip-flopped once more The voters and media Couldn't keep score His campaign for President Had barely begun He needed more money And saw there was none The sleepy-eyed bald guy Shut down his campaign The drip from Wisconsin A drop-out again*

*"again" rhymes with "campaign" like a Canadian would say it

-7- Let’s Stand As One (Tune: “O Tannenbaum”)

From the Solidarity Sing Along 2011 Holiday Songbook Adapted by the SSA in 2013

Let's stand as one, the fight's begun To change this state forever We sing in peace, let gridlock cease We’ll oust the gov together For health and schools, clean streams and skies Less greed in how we split the pie Let's stand as one, the fight's begun To change our state together Wisconsin folks, come stand as one Let our great state shine bright as sun Reclaim a clean Wisconsin now Keep up the fight. We know just how! Protect the weak, the young and old Don't let Scott Walker harm our fold! The man has done only harmful deeds Once Walker’s gone: Democracy! Let's stand as one, the fight's begun To change this state forever We sing in peace, let gridlock cease We’ll oust the gov together

-4- Hark! The Plutocrats

Will Whine (Tune: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing)

Hark! The plutocrats will whine If they have to pay a dime! Scrooge is now their Christmas god While their workers toil and plod! Make their stuff far overseas Let Americans starve and freeze! Love their country, they do not! We must fight against their plot! Hark! The plutocrats will whine If they have to pay a dime! Hark! The working poor unite! Show us all how we must fight! Fast food workers, home care, too Value in all work we do! Those who make the stores ka-ching They are humans, not just things! One big union for all work! Organize against the jerks! Hark! The working poor unite! Show us all how we must fight! Peace on Earth, good will to all Is our creed, our plea, our call! Solidarity will win Over the root of all our sin! Life is more than hoarding gold It’s a truth that must be told! Christmas is not just a sale The Charlie Brown special told the tale! Peace on Earth, good will to all Is our creed, our plea, our call!

-25- Here Comes Robin Vos

(Tune: Here Comes Santa Claus)

Here comes Robin Vos Here comes Robin Vos Right-wing merchant of pain Fixin’ the votes on bills ALEC wrote While pullin’ the public’s chain Corporate panderin’, gerrymanderin’ Fostering sickness and blight You ain’t got a prayer if you’re not a payer ‘Cause Robin Vos is robbin’ tonight

Here comes Robin Vos Here comes Robin Vos Right-wing merchant of pain He’s got a bag that’s filled with bribes Our loss is Vos’s gain Hear his pockets jingle jangle Oh what a horrible sight He’s in bed with powers we dread And Robin Vos is robbin’ tonight

Here comes Robin Vos Here comes Robin Vos Right-wing merchant of pain More privatizin’ is on the horizon Has he gone insane? The Civil Service they better be nervous Robin’s out for vengeance and spite So set a date to move out of state ‘Cause Robin Vos is robbin’ tonight

Here comes Robin Vos Here comes Robin Vos Right-wing merchant of pain He’ll be about with jobs to hand out It’s crony time again A piece of the action’s all he’s askin’ for Surely a check you can write Salute Bob LaFollette and guard your wallet ‘Cause Robin Vos is robbin’ tonight

‘Cause Robin Vos is robbin’ tonight!!

-24- God Blessed You

With Your Genitals (Tune: God Bless Ye Merry Gentlemen)

God blessed you with your genitals Republicans will say They claim that public re-estrooms Are not for trans or gays They base their rules on unfound fears And hope you’ll go away They’ll decide whether you’re a girl or boy Girl or boy They’ll deci-ide whether you’re a girl or boy From Nass and Kremer came a bill To regulate the loo Lift up your dress, display your mess So we know who is who You’ll have to wait until the state Determines if you’re you They’ll decide whether you’re a girl or boy Girl or boy They’ll deci-ide whether you’re a girl or boy "Now fear us," said Republicans "We’ll teach you wrong from right We’ll send you to a separate room Until you see the light Empowering those who must impose Their prejudice through might We’ll decide whether you’re a girl or boy Girl or boy We’ll deci-ide whether you’re a girl or boy”

-5- Erwin’s Cops Are Coming To Town

(Tune: Santa Claus Is Coming To Town)

You’d better watch out Don’t hold a sign Better not shout You might get a fine Erwin’s cops are coming to town He started a list Of just nine or ten Free speech offenders Who came back again Eriwin’s cops will come to your house

He thinks you need a permit For banners, signs and songs In our Capitol Rotunda? Constitution says he’s wrong!

You’d better not sing You’d better not sway Put down the chalk Or wash it away Erwin’s cops will find you at work

Citations by the hundreds The LRAD did attack They gave us pain compliance Extra pain if you are Black

So you’d better watch out If you dare to dissent They’ll appeal till the peoples’ Money’s all spent Erwin’s guards aren’t shutting us down

Page 8: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-6- Oh Billionaires

(Tune: O Tannenbaum)

Oh billionaires, oh 1 percent It’s time to pay your taxes You live like kings, you kill for bling We won’t support your habits We will boycott all your stores Banks and drugs, and all your wars Oh billionaires, oh 1 percent It’s time to pay your taxes! Oh ruling class, oh 1 percent Why don’t you pay your taxes? You scheme and play, and rob each day You prey upon the masses We will stop you every day We won’t send a cent your way Oh ruling class, oh 1 percent Why don’t you pay your taxes? Oh patriarchs, oh plutocrats It’s time you paid your dues You smile and lie, you occupy The minds of people, too We will boycott all your news And all your mass media, too Oh patriarchs, oh plutocrats It’s time you paid your dues! Oh billionaires, oh 1 percent Why don’t you pay your taxes? Get out of town, we won’t back down We’ll occupy your assets We won’t bomb your homes and lands Like you do to fund your scams Oh billionaires, oh 1 percent We just demand your taxes!

-23- Wisconsin, O Wisconsin

(Tune: Hanukkah, O Hanukkah) Wisconsin o Wisconsin, a pyre flame is rising Your rights are on fire, and there’s no compromising Ron Johnson and Grothman, now stand for your state Walker and Priebus, it’s government by snake!

And while we were voting Their pockets were greased once again A million in that one, a million in this They mock what was once progressive A million in that one, a million in this They mock what was once progressive

"Dear Mr. Gimbel, you lit up our mailbox We're just a bit busy, with lutefisk and gravlax Dorothy is hoppin', to work with Rabbi Shmotkin Menorah, fuse and all thereof We wish you a merry Molotov

"And while you are swaying Our devious minds make a din Right to Work and for less, Pennsylvania Ave. address Your mazel tov, I'm blowin' off. Right to Work and for less, Pennsylvania Ave. address No disputin, I'm Scott Rasputin."

Wisconsin, O Wisconsin, a quiet rotunda That’s what the Ba-rons, demand for their plund-AH Gather in the circle, and in a big voice, Sing “Give Light!,“ ‘til again we rejoice

And while we are swaying That vision is burning bright Wisconsin will fight, For what’s good and what’s right FOR OUR SONG IN THE CAPITOL SQUARE! WISCONSIN WILL FIGHT FOR WHAT’S GOOD AND WHAT’S RIGHT FOR OUR SONG UNDER FIGHTING BOB’S… GLARE!

Page 9: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-22- Fair Trade Dreidel (Tune: I Have A Little Dreidel)

I’m sick of spending money On presents no one needs I’d rather put my dollars Toward good works and good deeds CHORUS: Oh, fair trade, fair trade, fair trade A better kind of gift Oh, fair trade, fair trade, fair trade Gives everyone a lift! Commercial toys and tchotchkes Are not worth what we spend But when we buy from crafters We all win in the end! CHORUS So look for fair trade items For every holiday Your family will love ‘em And proudly you can say CHORUS

-7- Carbon Bells

(Tune: Jingle Bells)

Dashing through the snow In a great big S.U.V. Brown are hills we know Must drive to the U.P. Methods quite extreme Bring fossil fuels to me Consume like no tomorrow Hold out hope for Planet B!

Jingle bells, ocean swells California’s dry These effects of climate change Oil salesmen deny! [REPEAT]

Easy oil is gone Clean coal is a fake Tar sands and fracked oil Piped o’er seas and lakes Blast the mountaintops Wisconsin has sand Need some props for fracking? You can haul off our farm land!

Jingle bells, poisoned wells Frac sand crystals fly! Earthquakes shake beneath the shale While corporate science lies [REPEAT]

Windmills don’t pollute No one owns the sun Power that renews Could be produced by everyone! Conservation would Have saved us money too Until the rates were shifted Making waste the new virtue!

Jingle Bells, climate Hell’s Not that far away Let us have our wind and rail And let our solar pay! [REPEAT]

Page 10: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-8- Walker Quit By Christmas

(Tune: I’ll Be Home For Christmas)

Walker quit by Christmas His campaign’s history No more bus, not one cauc-us Not even one prim’ry Was it ‘cause he punted On questions overseas? Or ‘cause he’d turn citizens Into deportees? Would the wall he wanted Have helped keep out the snow? Walker quit by Halloween So now we’ll never know Walker quit by Christmas His campaign’s history No more bus, not one cauc-us Not even one prim’ry (slowly) Not even one prim’ry!

-21- Do You Know What I Know?

(Tune: Do You Hear What I Hear?)

Said Mike Huebsch to-oo Chief Erwin

"Do you see what I see? (what I see?)

Way down on the Rotunda floor

Do you see what I see? (what I see?)

A crowd, a crowd, singing every noon

With a sign as bold as can be

With a sign as bold as can be"

Said Chief Erwin to the Palace Guard

"Do you hear what I hear? (what I hear?)

Singing through the Capitol every day

Do you hear what I hear? (what I hear?)

A song, a song echoing through the halls

With a voice as bold as can be

With a voice as bold as can be”

Said the Palace Guard to the protester

"Do you know what I know? (what I know?)

In the Capitol singing protest songs

Do you know what I know? (what I know?)

You’ll be arrested if you do not leave

We will use, hand cuffs and zip ties

We will use, hand cuffs and zip ties"

Said the protester to media everywhere

"Listen to what I say! (what I say!)

First Amendment rights, they don’t care

Listen to what I say! (what I say!)

Bob LaFollette, helped designed our ring

So we could peacefully assemble and sing

So we could peacefully assemble and sing”

Page 11: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-20- Won’t You March

In Our Parade? (Tune: Good King Wenceslas)

Special interests rule the land One single voice is feeble But together, hand in hand Power to the people! CHORUS: Won’t you march in our parade? Join the celebration! Sing for peace with songs that say Justice in our nation! Daily songs are good for health Rousing up our spirit We want the rich to share the wealth Respect all workers' merit! CHORUS Come add your voice, sing every day There's room in our big circle We polka, sway, sings songs that say “Together we are hopeful!” CHORUS

-9- Up On The Balcony

(Tune: Up On The House Top)

Up on the balcony coppers pause Out through the LRAD Erwin calls Down to the citizens tuneful noise Disperse at once, I do not enjoy CHORUS: Ho Ho Ho! We didn't go! Ho Ho Ho! We didn't go! Down from the balcony, quick quick quick Into the basement, click click click First comes the strike team of little Fell Don't these handcuffs fit you well? Give him a ticket for no permit Change it later when we learn our skit CHORUS Next for the strike team is gentle Will Fought for our rights and fighting still Handcuffed for singing, now that's just whack Dropped on the stairs right on his back CHORUS During the summer the LRAD rang Three hundred arrests, that's just insane A word to the wise and Erwin, too We're here to stay, and we'll outlast you CHORUS Two years passed since the mass arrests Dane County courts cleaned up the mess Thanks be to J.S.O. and Crute Next up a class action lawsuit CHORUS

Page 12: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-10- Women’s Woe

(Tune: Let It Snow)

Well the legislature is frightful If your pregnancy’s not delightful They closed all the clinics, so Ignore Roe, right-wing dough, women’s woe Well they don’t show a sign of stopping And the lies they tell are whopping Got to keep ladies’ prospects low Ignore Roe, right-wing dough women’s woe

If a woman finds out too late That her fetus’ health is unsound Or a girl was knocked up by rape They prescribe ultrasound!

So the clinic workers are dying While guilt the right’s denying They still rant on fake video Ignore Roe, right-wing dough, women’s woe

If the Planned Parenthood got closed And your cancer screening’s no more As the illness turns out your lights At least you know you’re not a whore!

Well the lawmakers love a fetus Once born, they decline to feed us As misogyny runs the show Ignore Roe, right-wing dough, women’s woe.

-19- Please Hear, You

Right-Wing Lawmakers (Tune: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen)

Please hear, you right-wing lawmakers You’ve filled us with dismay At all the things you’ve done to us Since last year’s holidays You don’t listen to constituents Bribery shows the way (softer) With no tidings of comfort and joy Comfort and joy With no tidings of comfort and joy. Please look, you right-wing lawmakers Why is it you can’t see? Enacting bills without support Is not democracy We want all voices to be heard Because speech should be free (staccato) And not bought by the corp’ratocracy Can’t you see? They depri-ive us of comfort and joy. Good people help return our state To honest policies Ignore those awful TV ads Financed in secrecy Elect folks who love public schools And care for you and me (joyfully) Then we’ll all have more comfort and joy! Then we’ll all have more comfort and joy!

Page 13: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-18- Let’s Stand As One

(Tune: O Tannenbaum)

Let’s stand as one, the fight’s not won To change this state forever We sing in peace, let gridlock cease We’ll oust the Gov together

For health and schools Clean streams and skies Less greed in how we split the pie Let’s stand as one, the fight’s not won To change our state together

Wisconsin folks, come stand as one Let our great state shine bright as sun Reclaim a clean, Wisconsin now Keep up the fight. We know just how!

Protect the weak, the young and old Don’t let Scott Walker harm our fold! The man has done, only harmful deeds Once Walker’s gone: Democracy!

Let’s stand as one, the fight’s not won To change this state forever We sing in peace, let gridlock cease We’ll oust the Gov together

-11- O Come, All Ye Workers

(Tune: O Come, All Ye Faithful)

O come all ye workers Ninety-nine percenters O come ye, o come ye who work for your wage! Come and behold how Bosses try to squeeze you! CHORUS: O come, let us all organize O come, let us all organize O come, let us all organize Take what’s ours! Oh, well, say the bosses "You need to work harder! Just take your bootstraps and give them a pull!" But, we’re producing More and more than ever! CHORUS They say it’s better They call this "recovery"?! All of the profits go to you know who! Their banks got bailed out Workers just got sold out! CHORUS

Page 14: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-12- Go, Organize

Your Work Place (Tune: Go, Tell It On The Mountain)

CHORUS: Go organize your workplace Or school or home or everywhere Go organize your workplace The union makes us strong

When I was a student I took out student loans But even working two jobs I can’t pay what I owe

CHORUS

Four years I’ve worked at Starbucks And slaved for every cent Now, if I made fifteen bucks Then I could pay my rent

CHORUS

There are some needs that I shed My kids I can’t refuse But hot dogs or some white bread I should not have to choose!

CHORUS

They say that I’m just lazy Well, they should work this hard! What they say is just crazy So here’s my union card!

CHORUS

Now I am retired I stand up and I sing No threat of being fired For doing the right thing

CHORUS

-17- God Bless You

Very Wealthy Men (Tune: God Rest You Merry Gentlemen)

God bless you very wealthy men Good news I have to tell The market’s up, you’re making more Each time you buy and sell With layoffs more, your profits soar You’re living rather well O tidings of capital gains, capital gains O tidings of capital gains! God bless you very wealthy men You never have to see The people all around you Who must live in misery You keep the poor far from your door You know no poverty O tidings of capital gains, capital gains O tidings of capital gains! God bless you very wealthy men Whatever comes to pass You have no fear that you will be Kicked out upon your ass We have a feeling that your ceiling Is not made of glass O tidings of capital gains, capital gains O tidings of capital gains! God bless you very wealthy men You do repeat this song You owe success to your hard work No one helped you along You’ve raised yourself to the top shelf Your bootstraps must be strong O tidings of capital gains, capital gains O tidings of capital gains! God bless you poor and working folks It’s time to take a stand For decent wages, health, and pensions Are our just demands It’s time to fight, we must unite! Now, won’t you lend a hand? O tidings of a world to be gained, a world to be gained O tidings of a world to be gained!

Page 15: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-16- Deck The Halls With

Pink Citations (Tune: Deck The Halls)

Deck the halls with pink citations Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite! Hear Chief Erwin’s fabrications! Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite!

Don we now our warm apparel Fa la la la la la, cite, cite, cite! While we sing our freedom carol Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite!

See the Constitution here now Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite! Our state valued freedom, and how! Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite!

Now it’s time to drop the cases! Fa la la la la la, cite, cite, cite! Put an end to these disgraces! Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite!

Fast away the old year passes Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite! New term’s coming, lads and lasses! Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite!

Sing we fearless, in all weather Fa la la la la la, cite, cite, cite! We will face their threats together! Fa la la la la, and cite, cite, cite!

-13- Have A Holly, Jolly

Handgun (Tune: Have A Holly, Jolly Christmas)

Have a holly, jolly handgun To conceal throughout the year Don’t be slow, to let it show In a bar when you drink beer Have a holly, jolly handgun And when you walk down the street Don’t drop your gun, shoot yourself Or anyone you meet

Oh ho The knives we throw The good guys with a gun Somebody runs from you Scare them ‘til they’re safe!

Have a holly, jolly handgun You can cause a lot of fear Oh by golly Have a holly Jolly handgun This year!

-15- Here Comes Santa Koch

(Tune: Here Comes Santa Claus)

Here comes Santa Koch, here comes Santa Koch Right down ALEC Claus Lane Walker and Christie and all their reindeer Pullin’ on the reins

Coffers ringin’, children starvin’ The rich are merry, all right! So hang your stockings and say your prayers ‘Cause Santa Koch comes tonight!

Here comes Walmart, here comes Walmart Right down "Free Trade" Lane They’ve got stores chock full with toys For boys and girls again

All the toys are made in China Store workers fightin’ for rights Wage slavery across the world ‘Cause Walmart comes tonight

Here comes Ruling Class, here comes Ruling Class Right down Capitalist Lane They will preach their "hard work" line Again and again and again!

They would lash us into serfdom Always enhancing their might! Nothing is enough for them As Ruling Class comes tonight!

Here comes Working Class Here comes Working Class Right down Organize Lane We’ll come around when calls ring out "It’s striking time again!"

Dignity will come to all If we just fight for our rights So let us all unite as one ‘Cause Working Class fights tonight! So let us all unite as one ‘Cause Working Class fights tonight!

-14- Walker Blunderland II (Tune: Walking In A Winter Wonderland)

Cowbells ring, are you listening? In the Square, snow is glistening A beautiful sight, we’re active tonight Wintering in a Walker Blunderland Every day we have manners Every day we wave banners We’ll sing out these songs, all winter long Wintering in a Walker Blunderland

In the Rotunda, we won’t see Dave Erwin He’s the head of Walker’s Palace Guard We get lots of mail from Mr. Erwin But for him to show his face is mighty hard

Later on, we’ll conspire As we dream, by the fire To face unafraid, the plans that they’ve made Wintering in a Walker Blunderland

We’ll leave our guitars and fiddles In their cases And we’ll sing a cappella for an hour They’ll see smiles all upon our faces And know that through our singing We have power

When it snows, ain’t it thrilling? Though your nose gets a chilling We’ll sing from the floor Like we’ve done before Wintering in a Walker Blunderland Wintering in a Walker Blunderland Winter, Walker, Winter Blunderland

Page 19: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

Page 20: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

CHORUS

Page 21: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

Page 22: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

Page 23: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

-8- Walker Quit By Christmas

(Tune: I’ll Be Home For Christmas)

Walker quit by Christmas His campaign’s history No more bus, not one cauc-us Not even one prim’ry Was it ‘cause he punted On questions overseas? Or ‘cause he’d turn citizens Into deportees? Would the wall he wanted Have helped keep out the snow? Walker quit by Halloween So now we’ll never know Walker quit by Christmas His campaign’s history No more bus, not one cauc-us Not even one prim’ry (slowly) Not even one prim’ry!

-21- Do You Know What I Know?

(Tune: Do You Hear What I Hear?)

Said Mike Huebsch to-oo Chief Erwin

"Do you see what I see? (what I see?)

Way down on the Rotunda floor

Do you see what I see? (what I see?)

A crowd, a crowd, singing every noon

With a sign as bold as can be

With a sign as bold as can be"

Said Chief Erwin to the Palace Guard

"Do you hear what I hear? (what I hear?)

Singing through the Capitol every day

Do you hear what I hear? (what I hear?)

A song, a song echoing through the halls

With a voice as bold as can be

With a voice as bold as can be”

Said the Palace Guard to the protester

"Do you know what I know? (what I know?)

In the Capitol singing protest songs

Do you know what I know? (what I know?)

You’ll be arrested if you do not leave

We will use, hand cuffs and zip ties

We will use, hand cuffs and zip ties"

Said the protester to media everywhere

"Listen to what I say! (what I say!)

First Amendment rights, they don’t care

Listen to what I say! (what I say!)

Bob LaFollette, helped designed our ring

So we could peacefully assemble and sing

So we could peacefully assemble and sing”

Page 24: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

[REPEAT]

Page 25: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

Page 26: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

REST IN POWER Skylar Lee, 2015

Page 27: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

Page 28: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

Page 29: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition

Page 30: Solidarity Sing Along Songbook, Holiday 2015 edition
