This year, I have been on a journey with others, growing in understanding that the core identity of the Church is evangelization; sharing the love of Christ with others through an authentic relationship with Jesus by sharing the message of the Gospel. Through this journey I was naturally lead to reflect on the gift of the St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine. The St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine, through the obedience, hard work, sacrifice and love of others, has brought to fruition this gift to Christ the King campus here in Mesa, Arizona. The St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine is a perpetual adoration chapel. Through the gift of perpetual adoration, we have a sanctuary, a retreat from the storms in our lives, a sacred place of encounter where our Lord is present and waits for our visits, a place of prayer. Let us come before him with thankful hearts for the beauty of this gift! Through the mission of the St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine we are invited to share the love of our Lord, through gifts of prayer, with those who are suffering around the world as they face a diagnosis of cancer. A diagnosis of cancer affects the individual, their families, friends and communities. Our Lord invites us to enter into this time of prayer for another; He takes our efforts and anoints them with his grace, blessing the recipient across the miles with this gift of love. I have received beautiful testimonies, describing how these notes of love have brought encouragement and the light of hope in some of the most trying times—how some have experienced the embrace of love, as they opened the package and were wrapped in the shawl that was crafted in the prayer. As we celebrate the 9th year of the St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine I invite you to prayerfully consider a contribution to the Endowment Fund, established in 2011. This fund was established so that the gift of the Shrine would be in existence for years to come, never ending. Next week, we kick off the Endowment Ask 2018. Santuario de Cáncer San Peregrino

Este año, en mi trayecto con los demás, he crecido en entendimiento de que la identidad principal de la Iglesia es como evangelizadora; compartir el amor de Cristo con los demás a través de una relación auténtica con Jesús compartiendo el mensaje del Evangelio. Durante este trayecto, naturalmente he sido guiada a reflexionar en el regalo que es el Santuario de Cáncer San Peregrino. Este santuario, a través de la obediencia, el arduo trabajo, el sacrificio y el amor de los demás, ha dado el fruto de este regalo para la parroquia Cristo Rey aquí en Mesa, Arizona. El Santuario de Cáncer San Peregrino es una capilla de adoración perpetua. A través del regalo de la adoración perpetua, tenemos un santuario, un retiro de las tormentas en nuestra vida, un lugar de oración, un lugar sagrado de encuentro en donde nuestro Señor está presente y esperando nuestras visitas. ¡Vengamos ante Él con corazones agradecidos por la belleza de este regalo! A través de la misión del Santuario de Cáncer San Peregrino, estamos invitados a compartir el amor de nuestro Señor, a través del regalo de la oración, con aquellos que están sufriendo alrededor del mundo al enfrentar un diagnóstico de cáncer. Un diagnóstico de cáncer afecta a un individuo, a su familia, a sus amistades y a su comunidad. Nuestro Señor nos invita a entrar en este tiempo de oración por otra persona; Él toma nuestros esfuerzos y los unge con Su gracia, bendiciendo al receptor a través de los kilómetros con este regalo de amor. He recibido testimonios hermosos, describiendo la manera en que estas notas de amor han dado aliento y la luz de la esperanza durante los momentos más difíciles; cómo han sentido el abrazo del amor al abrir el paquete y sentirse abrazados en el chal que fue tejido en oración.
