Android Phone users:

Tap on the “Play Store” icon located on the home screen of your phone.

There are two ways to download the app depending on the type of operating system your phone uses. *To discover the type of operating system, tap on the “Settings” icon for your phone and look in the “About” section

Tap on the “App Store” icon located on the home screen of your phone.1 1 0

Tap on the “Search” icon located at the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Tap on the “Search” icon located at the bottom of the App Store.

Tap on the search bar and then type in “Solar Site Design.”

Tap on the search bar and then type in “Solar Site Design.”

Tap on the the Solar Site Design icon in the list of apps.

Tap on the “Free” button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

Tap on the “Install” buttonto confirm your choice of app.

The “Free” button will change to an “Install” button. Tap the “Install” button.

Tap on the “Accept” buttonto confirm your choice of app.

A “Sign In” screen will pop up. Type in your Apple ID password.

When you open the app for the first time, tap on the red “Register” button

*located at the bottom of the screen.

You will then be taken to the Registration Screen.

Fill out the form provided on the Registration screen shown here.

Tap the white boxes and a keyboard will appear to allow you to type in your information.

The red asterisks * mean you are required to provide the information in order to register.

Don’t forget to scroll all the way down the screen by touching the screen and swiping your finger upward.

TIP: You’ll use the same email address and password you create here to login to both the app and the website online.

When you’ve finished filling out the form, tap on the “Register” button

at the bottom of the screen.

TIP: You’ll need to have available email to login into the application, if not you wouldn’t able to register into the app.



Now that you’ve registered, you can type in your username/email address and password in the white boxes and tap on the “Login” button

to open the app.

TIP: Forget your password? Just click on “Forgot Password” located below the “Login” button on this screen. You will then go to this screen to reset your password.

Step 3Create a Site Survey Report


Step 3 Create a Site Survey Report.

After you login to the app, you’ll see the Home Screen shown here to the left.

Tap on the “New Survey Site” button in the end of the screen to begin creating your survey report.

TIP: To refresh the page , tap on the “Recycle” button in the top right hand corner of the screen.



The New Site Survey section of the app allows you to enter all the information necessary to create a complete solar site survey report.

To begin, start fill all data information on “Project Data” and click “Next Step” button after finish.

Remember that the more information you provide here, the more time and money you’ll save going forward.

TIP: You can save your data while completing the survey.Detail information on next page.



In the Installation Data section, provide as much information as possible about the structure type, inverter location and electrical requirements associated with your site.

Click “Next Step” button after finish.

To note the structure type, put a check in the box beside Pitched, Flat, and/or Ground Mount by tapping on the box.

If you’d like to compare options, you may check the box next to more than one structure type.

TIP: Remember to scroll down to see the complete form.


Step 3.1 Save as Draft.

This screen will appear when you select “Save as Draft” button.

Simply type name for the survey and click the ‘Save Draft” button.

And if you successfully save it, this notification will appear:


Step 3.2 Structure Type Form.

When you select structure type. On the last form of New Site Survey, you will notice different form asPitched, Flat, and/or Ground Mount has different form.

You can select more than one option for Structure Type.



In the Design Information section, add as much information as possible about any site characteristics that might effect the solar design.

Describe the surrounding terrain and any obstructions.

Remember to scroll down through the entire form.

Select one “Wind Exposure Category” option that suitable with the site.

In the Flat Roof Design section, provide as much information as possible about the Topographical Factor, Roof Surface, Slope, etc. that is associated with your site.


Videos and photos can be extremely useful in describing the site to other team members so take advantage of this feature and add them to your project data. . (next page for detail information)

TIP: Remember to scroll down to see the complete form.



This screen will appear if you click “Upload Images or Videos”. In this section, simply select “Take Photo” or “Take Video” button to submit your file into the survey data.

Your video or image file will appear on “Picther Roof Design” section after you successfully upload the file.

Add video and photos as previously described and provide as much descriptive information as possible about the roofs, building, and surrounding space.


Step 3.3.1 Upload Video

Tap on the button to use your phone’s camera to record video. Add Video

Tap on the button to return to the Project Data screen.

Tap on the circular red button to begin recording.

Tap on the square red buttonto end recording.

Tap on the button

to discard the video.

Tap on the button to watch the video.

Tap on the button

to upload it to your project data.

Now that you’ve added video and photos, scroll down through the rest of the Project Data form and fill in as much information as possible.

When you’ve finished, tap on the button located in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

TIP: Once you save the Project Data section, you can close the app and come back at anytime to finish entering information into this survey report.



When you’ve finished filling out all the New Site Survey sections, Click ‘OK’ button to go back to Home screen.

You can close out the app on your phone, and finish entering information at any time using either the phone app or by accessing the Solar Site Design website on your computer.

TIP: Remember, with each item of information you add, you save time and money. When you’re finished entering data, on each individual screen, tap the button located in the top right-hand corner.

If you’d like to finish entering information from your computer, use your computer’s internet browser to go to www.solarsitedesign.com

To login to the site, click on the “Login” button located in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

When prompted, enter the same username/email address and password that you created for the app on your phone.

The next screen will list your saved survey reports. Click on the “Edit Inspection” button located here :

Fill in the various sections of the survey report just as you did on the app, and remember to scroll down to the bottom of the form.

When you’re finished, click on the orange “Update” button here to save your information.

When you’ve finished filling out all the sections on the New Site Survey screen and saved the information, tap on the button located in the lower part of the screen.

When your feasibility drawing has been completed, you will be notified via email from the Solar Site Design team.

When prompted, enter the same username/email address and password that you created for the app on your phone.
