North State Road 9 Trailhead

The Blue RiverWalking Trailis clearly markedalong the complete4.3 miles of trail.Look for the sign shown to the left,and you’ll enjoy therivers, artwork andnature at its best.

The Blue River Recreational Trails areopen year round. The 10’ path iscompletely paved from end to end, with a deck at the east end offering beautiful views of Blue River Memorial Park and the Little Blue River.

From the North 9 Trailhead, historic downtown Shelbyville is only 3 blocks away, and the Porter Visitors Center is across the street.Look for public art and the solar system sculptures dotted along the way.

Currently, there are 5 nesting pair of Bald Eagles in Shelby County. Keep on the lookout for these amazing raptors.It is a Federal offense to take, possess, transport, sell, import, or export their nests, eggs and parts that are taken in violation of any state, tribal or U.S. law.
