Christmas dinnerEstonian families celebrate Christmas on Christmas Day, starting with a proper meal - pork, black-pudding, sauerkraut, boiled potatoes, pumpkin and steak.

It is tradition to prepare gingerbreads for dessert. People usually glaze gingerbreads. Children enjoy decorating them. Gingerbreads are so delicious!

Midsummer’s DayMidsummer's Day is the most important holiday for the Estonians in the summertime. People dance and sing around the bonfire. Meat and sausages are grilled and eaten with ketchup.

Valentine’s DayOn this day lovers express their sympathy to each other. It is usual that on this day everybody eats heart-shaped sweets and cakes.

Shrove TuesdayThe holiday has long history. It is held in February. This is pea soup with smoked pork. It tastes good after a long ride over snow.

Those are hot-crossed buns with whipped cream topping.

EasterEaster is characterized by warm and bright colors. It is spring holiday. The eggs are painted with this the onion peels.

The bread is homemade. It is oven-baked and very soft. Estonian families bake bread very often.

Estonian everyday foodFor dinner the Estonians eat potatoes with meat and some salad in addition. Black bread is also important. Bread with seeds is healty.

There is always something to drink on the table. Here is an apple juice and milk.
