The Teacher Screen (http://t.socrative.com) The room number and number of student in the room are displayed. Students must have

the room number to join the room.

Single Question Activities: spontaneous, verbalquestions that can be used to do a quick check for

understanding or take a poll. No need to type anything.

Quiz-Based Activities: Quizzes, exit templates, and agame created in advance. Quizzes include multiple

choice, multiple answer, T/F, and open ended.

Manage Quizzes: Create, edit and delete quizzes

My Account: Change password, email address, androom number, edit teacher info, clear the room and

logout.

The Student Screen (http://m.socrative .com) Students enter the room number from the teacher screen and click Join Room.

Single Question Activity1. Teachers login at t.socrative.com by entering their email and password.2. Students join the class athttp://m.socrative.comby entering the virtual room number

provided by the teacher. Students will see Waiting for teacher to start an activity

3. Teacher initiates a single question activity by selecting Multiple Choice, True/False orShort Answer under Single Question Activities on the main screen. One click!

4. Students respond on their devices5. Students results are visible on the Teachers screen or sent in an email. NOTE:

o This method does not record who answered. It is a general check forunderstanding.

o Multiple choose offers A-E option. That cannot be changed.o Teachers can choose to show answers to class and then have students Vote on

responses.

Create a Quiz1. On the teacher main screen, click on Manage Quizzes2. Select Create a Quiz3. Name the quiz4. Sharing: enables

teachers to create and

share quizzes using an

SOC number. To share

the quiz, check the box.

When the quiz is saved,

an SOC# will appear.

Others will need that

number to import the quiz

5. Select Multiple Choice or ShortAnswer

6. Enter the question and answerchoices. Click in the box next to the

correct answer

7. Repeat steps #5 and #6 until allquestions are entered

8. Then click Save

Import a Quiz1. On the teacher main screen, click on Manage Quizzes2. Select Import a Quiz3. Two Options

o Option 1:Click Import Shared Quiz and then enterthe SOC number. Another teacher, who wants to

share their quiz, must give you their SOC number.

o Option 2: Create a Quiz in Excel and Import it1. You must first create a quiz in Excel.

To create a quiz in Excel using the template, click Use Excel template toimport a quiz

When finished, click File/ SAVE AS and save it to your network folder. You are now ready Import Quiz from Excel

Run a Pre-made quiz1. Click on Start Quiz2. Select the quiz from the dropdown menu3. Select advanced options before selecting

Student or Teacher paced (optional)

4. Click Student Paced or Teacher Paced5. The quiz will start6. Students join the room by entering the room

number found at the top right.

7. Students take the quiz8. Teachers may choose to Hide Live Results

or Show Live Results

9. When finished, click End Activity

Analyze DataThe Quiz feature allows teachers to download (or email) reports that display how each student

did on the quiz.

After clicking End Activity this screen appears. Email Report sends an attached Excelfile. Download Report, downloads the report in Excel.

The Space RaceThe Space Race is a competitive, interactive game where individuals or teams compete by

answering questions. Each correct answer moves the rocket forward. The first person or team

to get their rocket across the screen wins.

The Space Race can be used with any pre-createdquizzes

From the main teacher screen, click on Space Race Select a quiz from the drop down menu Select the number of teams Click Next Students will enter the room number and then select a team Click Start Space Race

Exit TicketThe Exit Ticket is a great way to check student understanding at the end of class. It asks students

a series of quick questions and sends the results in a report. The Exit Ticket asks:

Name How well did you understand the material (multiple choice)? What did you learn today (free response)? Please solve the problem on the board (free response).

To create your own exit ticket, simply create a quiz, name it Exit Ticket and add questions. Ask

students to complete before leaving.
