SOMEXPRO is founded in March 2007 and today is the most widely recognized and accepted organization within the organizational framework of the National Organic Movement. It is composed of representatives of organizations of producers, processors, consumers, marketers, certification companies and academics related to the mexican organic sector. SOMEXPRO is a full member of IFOAM Organics International, having established commitments for the general promotion and strengthening of organic agriculture in Mexico. Tandem is an event planner agency for meetings and conventions. Their main office is

hotels. They coordinate social events, meetings, conventions, trade shows and

EVENT OBJECTIVES AND HIGHLIGHTS According to IFOAM - Organics International, Mexico ranks third in terms of number of producers worldwide, only after India and Uganda, one of the most organically cultivated crops is coffee, but others such as tropical fruits, corn, honey, vegetables, among others. Mexico is the country where the control system was developed for community certification of small farmers, now recognized as a valid system in the international market. In Mexico, 22 certification bodies operate and the main organic producing states are Chiapas, Oaxaca and Michoacán, both states contributing 50% of the national organic production. Currently Mexico has been developing its regulation for 3 years, and is in an initial stage of working groups for equivalence agreements with the United States, Canada and the European Union. The World Organic Congress will help Mexico and Latin America emerge as potencies for production and trade of organic products, as it will seek to position a continental image with the support of different Latin American countries. The OWC will provide the ideal space for the interaction of the different players in the national and global organic sector, where they discuss and present the current policies for the production and consumption of organic, as well as successful practices and innovations in the international arena. The OWC will be a perfect place to share and exchange experiences and development schemes among the different organizations that benefit the production and consumption of organic products at an international level.

PROMOTION OF THE EVENT

There will be a Coordination with IFOAM members from Latin America to maintain connection with producer organizations and competent authorities. We believe that the biggest promotion of OWC MEXICO 2020 will be in Social Networks such as Facebook, twitter and specialized pages on the topic that occupies the congress. We know that digital media currently occupy the largest source of information in all areas, so our strategy will be primarily the use of social networks as this will allow us to reach our target audience. In Mexico, it is considered to work radio, television and advertising in public transport. According to other campaigns carried out in Mexico, a cost of $ 600,000.00 USD. In addition to this, we are creating a Latin America commission in order to the construction of information gazettes in different languages to promote the participation of all stakeholders in different countries, this also will help to get closer to the authorities in the matter and thus have the support to promote the participation of different sectors. Our main objective will be to promote especially the participation of indigenous and small farmers, but also other actors in the sector.
