• Develop a Twitter presence to– Connect w/friends, family, experts– Tweet about what you know– Retweet information – Tweet articles– Use #hashtags to make Tweets searchable – Say less with more

• Get started– Sign up & choose a username (aka your handle)

• Build your following and followers – Use the ‘friend finder,’ ‘browse categories’
and‘who to follow’ links (#Discover) to find and follow• Friends, family, experts, publications & more
– Leverage current followers’ follow lists as a guide– Expect certain users you follow to return the favor
• Especially if you know a user personally

• LinkedIn is the largest professional networking site– Boasts 150 million+ members
• Used to connect professionals w/colleagues, friends, experts– Exchange knowledge– Find experts– Explore opportunities– Create & participate in professional groups

• Pinterest users include– Marketers– Schools– You, your friends, family, co-workers
• Audience skews female

• Create a Pinterest account to– Share and upload photos– Organize photos by subject– Search through & collect other users’ photos

• Create an account via Twitter or Facebook– Provides opportunity to connect w/friends on
Twitter or Facebook• Depends on which platform you use when signing up
– Remember profile & pins are public

• Follow those you find interesting
