Arthritis Care Altrincham and District Branch

Meetings held at The Larkhill Community Centre, Thorley

Lane, Timperley WA15 7BJ. The group organises outings,

events and holidays.

Meetings held on the 4th Wednesday of the month after

7.30pm for people affected by arthritis or similar problems.

Altrincham Probus Club

Meetings held at The Jubilee Centre, The Firs, Bowdon

WA14 2TQ. Meetings held on Fridays at 10.00am to

promote fellowship and stimulate interest through talks by

invited speakers, discussions and activities in a wide

variety of subjects by club members and others. The group

is open to retired or partially retired professional men and

businessmen.

Trinity Hale Church—The Guild

from 2.00pm -3.00pm, to promote friendship & share

Embroiders Guild

This group has speakers, demonstrations and slide shows,

share techniques, and have outings to places and shows of

interest.

Members can also participate in exhibitions throughout the

year. The group meets on the second Wednesday of the

month 10.00am-12.30pm for speakers and 12.30pm-

3.00pm for sew and chat sessions at the United Reform

Church, Woodland Parkway, Altrincham WA15 7QT.

Davyhulme Park Bowling Club

Meetings held at Davyhulme Park, Bowling Club House,

The club meets on Wednesday afternoons to play crown

Davyhulme and District Third Agers

Meetings held at Hayeswater Methodist Church,

Hayeswater Road, Davyhulme M41 7BL. This is a self-

help group for education and enlightenment. They offer a

range of forums, interest groups, visits and lunches.

Golden Hill Ladies Club

Meetings held in the summer at Golden Hill Park Bowling

Green, Park North Road, Urmston in the afternoons,

Monday to Friday. In the winter meetings are held at

Hartford Community Centre, Canterbury Road, Davyhulme

M41 0RX on Thursdays at 1.30pm.

The group meets for bowling in the summer and whist

drives in the winter.

Cascade Social Group

Cascade arranges social and leisure activities for single

people over 35, including dinner/dances, walks, weekends

away, holidays and more. It brings together people who

rarely get out, for socialising, talks, meals, entertainment

and outings. The meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday

of each month from 2.00pm-4.00pm.

Brooklands Gardening Society

To promote and encourage the good cultivation of gardens

and allotments. Activities include annual shows, occasional

talks, trips out and supply of garden requisites.The group

meets on Sunday 10.00am-12.00pm on the rear of 7

Sale Arts Society

This society provides an opportunity for artists to enjoy the

company and paint with fellow artists. The group meets on

Ladies fellowship meet at the first Friday of the month

The young in heart day group is open to people aged

60 and over, there is a coffee morning at 10.30am

followed by lunch and after lunch there is usually an

activity.

The Young in heart choir runs on Thursdays at

11.00am

This is a branch of a growing national network of self help,

educational, creative, and leisure activities organised

exclusively for, and by, retired people of all ages. They

hold weekly open meetings on Fridays at 2.00pm-4.00pm

plus a variety of group meetings at various times

throughout the week at various venues. Morning sessions

are normally run from 10.00am to 12.00pm and afternoon

sessions are normally 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Victoria Veterans Association

Activities held on Monday to Friday at 1.00pm-4.00pm at

Victoria Park, Stretford. The association offers trips out,

dominoes, darts, pool, snooker, conversation, indoor bowls

and crown green bowling.

St Hugh of Lincoln Senior Citizens

Trafford Chest Heart and Stroke Club

This is a social group for people who have had a stroke. It

meets on the second Thursday of every month 10.00am-

2.00pm in Flixton. As well as giving people the opportunity

to socialise, they run an exercise group and art class. They

provide a lunch for which there is a small charge. They

also provide transport.
