Top & Trending Hashtags• #TeamUSA experienced a climb on Thursday, in part

due to mentions in relation to USA’s sweep of the ski slopestyle event. We also saw a related hashtag appear in the top ten -- #GoTeamUSA. Slopestyle also got its own hashtag, which broke through the top ten. It was definitely a winning day for the sport!

• As the Olympics continue to roll on, #Sochi2014 is maintaining its place on top. It saw an impressive 30% gain in conversation day-to-day, jumping from 232,654 to 301,873 mentions

• The start of the men’s hockey tournament drove increased usage of #Hockey, 12,692 mentions and a place in the top ten. We expect that games for the Canadian and US team to drive even more conversations over the coming week.

Most Popular Sports & Events• Hockey finally dethroned curling as the men’s tournament

got started. Its 69,761 were enough to boost it above figure skating’s 65,210 mentions. With both events expected to run through Friday, we are excited to see who will dominate daily conversation.

• American success in the ski slopestyle event generated enough buzz to carry the sport into the top five with 35,468 mentions. It will be interesting to see if congratulatory remarks continue to carry it through Friday, a day after the event has concluded.

• Sliding sports continue to represent themselves in the top five with skeleton replacing luge. The sport continues on Friday and we may see even more mentions of it over the weekend.
