♦Increase in car ownership. Petroleum industry had a 500% increase of gasoline consumption.

♦Wages for both genders increased, this allowed families to buy consumer goods in time payments.
♦ Everyone wanted The American Dream it is why people worked for nicer things and made people feel equal, like everyone could have the dream.
♦ Before the 1920s, expensive items (cars, vacuum cleaners, washing machines) were thing only the wealthy could afford to buy.

♦Feminine clothing became looser and more shapeless.
♦Narrow boyish hips were preferred.
♦Increased use of make up and increasing popularity of applying it in public.
