When we agree with something someone says,we use SO.The sentences are affirmative:

Exp: Tom likes tennis.

I like tennis,too.-Tom likes tennis,so do I.

-John is a student.I’m a student,too.

John is a student.So am I.

Pat can swim.I can swim,too.

Pat can swim,so can I.

Jack was ill.His sister was ill,too.

Jack was ill,so was his sister.

Sally drank milk.I drank milk,too.

Sally drank milk,so did I.

Bob has been to London.We have been to

London,too.

Bob has been to London,so have we.

When we agree with something someone says and the sentences are negative,we use NEITHER

Exp:Jack doesn’t like football.I don’t like football,either.

Jack doesn’t like football,neither do I.

John isn’t a doctor.I’m not a doctor,either.

John isn’t a doctor, neither am I.

Pat can’t drive.Julia can’t drive,either.

Pat can’t drive,neither can Julia.

Jack wasn’t tired.I wasn’t tired,either.

Jack wasn’t tired,neither was I.

Nevin won’t go to work tomorrow and Aylin won’t,either.

Nevin won’t go to work tomorrow,neither will Aylin.
