It has been more than a year of intense preparation. But, as a seed idea, Celebration of Hope has been germinating in our hearts for much longer. Since July 2015.

We have pondered on what it means and what it takes. We have sought God personally in the secret place. We have prayed corporately in the public space. We have put our heads together, planned, and publicised. We have put our money where our mouth is. We have drawn closer to the Lord and to one another. We see stronger ties and new friendships being forged. We see pastors and leaders from both the conservative and charismatic streams praying and dreaming together, determined to put feet to vision.

Thus far the Lord has helped us (1 SAMUEL 7:12).

Celebration of Hope is God’s idea! He has shown us that we can move and minister as ONE despite obvious differences in personality, leadership style, and church culture. We are united in more ways than we realise. Truth is, what unites us is infinitely greater than what divides us. And when we come together for a harvest campaign of this scale, we are more convinced than ever that the Kingdom of God is infinitely larger than any local church, denomination, or alliance!

SO IT BEGINSWe are blessed to serve as ONE, firstly, as Christians: people who follow Jesus, people who belong to the community of the King. Deep down inside, we know we do this simply because we love our Lord. Secondly, we are in this together as fellow citizens and residents. We love our city-state. What a fantastic way to commemorate our bicentennial! Yes, in this historic year, we want to celebrate Jesus, the One and Only Person in heaven and on earth who deserves our undivided affection, unwavering allegiance, and unending applause. To God be the Glory, great things He has done!

We are pleased to welcome Evangelist J. John who will be proclaiming God’s Word along with others. God’s Word is alive and active. God’s Word is powerful. God’s Word is sharp. God’s Word can cut through every doubt and defence. God’s Word can pry open hearts to hear and obey Christ. We rejoice that God’s Word shall prevail at every rally.

We are overjoyed to offer our kith and kin as well as friends, neighbours, and sojourners the power of the Gospel for salvation (ROMANS 1:16). At every rally, we will also proclaim the Good News through a beloved hymn that has touched many generations.

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all,

who is over all and through all and in all (EPHESIANS 4:4-6).

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SICKAnnie Dang, Marjorie Lau, Nancy Li, Barbara Rayney, Joy Brett, Doris Proctor, Dr. Ruth Jeremiah, Anna Lim, Ana Pelaez, Chew Hock Hua and Lim Soon Chye.Members who know them are encouraged to visit and pray with them.

WORLDSri LankaThere has been a series of anti-Muslim violence since the Easter Sunday bombings. Pray for the government, the police and security forces to act with speed and wisdom to restore peace in the affected cities, for heightened vigilance to prevent further attacks on Muslims. Pray for the people to remain calm and refrain from sharing rumours or fake information in the social media. Pray for the terrorists to be speedily apprehended to ensure the security of the country.

SINGAPORE “Bless Our City” programmeThank God for “Bless Our City”, a new $1 million grant set up to address service gaps for overlooked communities such as former offenders, people with mental health issues, with special needs, migrant workers, and vulnerable families and individuals. This is a joint two-year initiative by the Far East Organisation (FEO) and Central Singapore Community Development Council (launched on 13 May).

Pray that through this initiative, many lives will be touched and transformed, and Singaporeans will continue to uphold the spirit of giving and caring, echoing the words of FEO’s CEO "We who have been blessed with much want to bless others too." Celebration of HopePray…..that whenever I speak, words may be given me that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel (Eph. 6:19). Declare: God speaks. His voice is majestic. His voice thunders! God speaks powerfully through His servants. He will cause His Word to fall like rain on good soil of tender hearts. He will reveal Jesus. All will see and know that God has spoken. The lost will turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God! (Extracted from 30.Day HarvestWatch)

DIOCESESt John’s ChapelPray for surrendered and renewed hearts; for a spiritual revival across all the five congregations in St John’s Chapel; for church members to be committed disciples, who live with a missional purpose, seeking the Kingdom of God; for students of St Margaret’s Secondary School to have open hearts and minds to know and experience the love of God in Jesus Christ.

St Matthew’s ChurchPray for the Church to have a greater passion to reach the lost and faith to believe in a mighty harvest; for a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in stirring hearts to love God more, to have a greater desire for His Word and a deeper commitment to serve the Lord wholeheartedly.

CATHEDRALActs Centre Thank God for all the contributions that Acts Centre has made to the life of the Cathedral. Pray for Acts Centre as they make preparations and go through the processes, to become part of My Saviour’s Church English congregation (w.e.f. a date to be decided). Pray for a smooth transition and integration into My Saviour’s Church.

Follow up of new believersPray for good and prompt follow up of every new believer from the Celebration of Hope bumper harvest; that every person will be warmly received into the Cathedral family, grounded in the faith, growing in spiritual maturity to become faithful followers of Christ and Kingdom workers, to fulfil Singapore’s Antioch call to the nations.

TRINITY THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE GRADUATION ON 11TH MAYL-R: Noom Dhanadhis(MDiv, Lat Krabang, Thailand), Charlotte Ng (MDiv, Eleven:30), Moses Israeli (MDiv, Myanmar Service), Revd Moses Saw (MTheo, Myanmar Service) & Kelvin Koo (MDiv, Westside Anglican)

We also congratulate Edmond Chua for his graduation on 4th May, Singapore Bible College, Master of Arts (Biblical Studies).

You guessed it: Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see. Who knows? God might open the hearts of the unsaved and draw them to Christ even before the preaching starts.

So it begins. This weekend is a divine appointment for Singapore. Thousands of unsaved people accompanied by Christian friends will be descending on the SportsHub for six mega moments with Christ our Saviour and King.In this final lap, every moment of every day, let us double up efforts to pray, engage, and gather. Cry out to God for divine favour. Yes, nothing less than a divine visitation upon our land!• Perfect weather. Angelic protection. Zero

security incident.• Excellent teamwork. Smooth ops.

Effective AV.• Packed stadium. Majority unbelievers. • Holy excitement. Captive audience. Ready

response.

• Anointed Worship. Fragrant presence of God.

• Powerful preaching of the Gospel. Mighty move of the Spirit!

So it begins. This the hour of His glory, the day of His power, the year of His harvest. Our confidence is in Him and Him alone. With joyful hope, we call on Him to do the awesome things that only He can do (ISAIAH 45:8, ISAIAH 64:1-4):• Rend the heavens• Rain down His Spirit• Reveal Christ Jesus• Illuminate darkened minds• Soften hardened hearts• Bend stubborn wills• Save lost souls• Turn Singapore Godward

It is always a privilege to worship God through the resources He has blessed us with.
