“Sending Netherlands volunteer overseas” known worldwide as

Netherlands Development Organisation

• Mission: Dedicated to a society where all people enjoy freedom

to pursue their own sustainable development.

• SNV believes on connecting people’s capacities, by which

development space can be created to fight against poverty.

SNV in NEPAL

• Since 1980, working with Government of Nepal, initially

under bilateral cooperation, Since 2004, within

development cooperation agreement- MoF

• Initially, project based services, shifted to advisory based

services from 2004 onwards

• About 50 Advisors, 30% international

• KLDP and MHDP – mostly recognized SNV in Nepal

• Supported capacity development of DCCIs, DDCs and NGOs

massively in Karnali & Mechi during 2005 - 2009

Our Partnership in Agriculture sector

• Development Cooperation Agreement with MoF

• Working MoU with MOAC and FNCCI/AEC

• Presently supporting (TA) in IFAD funded HVAP – covering 10 districts in mid west region

ADB funded RISMFP –Surkhet-Dailekh, Surkhet-Jajarkot and Surkhet-

Jumla Road Corridor Districts

CFC funded Bamboo Project

• Piloting IB in vegetable seeds, Chiuri and organic apple

• Promoting Orthodox Tea in eastern hills, and high value

domesticated NTFPs in the Terai

• Improving supply chain in WASH and RE in coordination

with DCCIs in Karnali.
