Using stitches:- Back stitch- Lazy Daisy Stitch

Instructions to Transfer Image1. Print pattern image and tape to a bright window or light box, tape your fabric over the top and trace using very sharp pencil, pen, or dressmakers chalk. If using pen, some thicker lines may show under your finished embroidery so ensure your lines are as thin as possible. Pencil and chalk can be removed by running finished project under soapy water.

2. Transfer paper, or dressmakers paper is often used as it is easy, and comes in a variety of colors and works well on darker fabrics when using white! You simply just place it between printed pattern and fabric, and on a very hard surface trace the pattern using a sharp pencil or pen.

3. Using the reverse pattern page (so it will appear right sided when ironed on), print and using a transfer pencil press firmly and trace. Turn the traced design pencil side down on fabric and press it on using a warm iron.

Instructions for Embroidery1. Work with 12-18 inch lengths of embroidery floss at a time to ensure fewer tangles. For the outlines use the backstitch or stem stitch. Stem stitch will be thicker, so you might want to go down to one strand. Try some test stitches on a scrap of fabric to see how it will look, if you are not sure.2. If embroidering on tea towels or pillowcases using the straight stitch or back stitch will look pleasant on the front and the back. Double knot all your tie offs, as it will be laundered often and you want your work to stay put.3. Avoid running the thread across the back of the fabric to go to a new stitching area. Instead, start and stop in each section to assure that running threads do not show through on the front side of your project.4. To create smooth uniform stitches, pull each stitch with equal amounts of tension.If the stitch is too loose it will appear limp, and too tight of a stitch will result in a puckered project.

- piece of linen or cotton plain weave fabric- embroidery needles- embroidery floss of matching colors- scissors- water-soluble fabric marking pen /or Transfer pencil /or Transfer paper- embroidery hoop
