Are you as passionate about the Largo Community Center as we are?  Our small group of current Senior Advisory Board members needs your help! We are looking for a few talented and creative volunteers to assist us in raising funds for Community Center programming that improve the quality of life for people in our community.   Can you spare 1-2 hours each month (Sept – May) for board meetings; a couple hours to assist with garage sales and help prepare and serve lunch for concert guests one day in each month of Jan., Feb. and March?  We would welcome your ideas!

Santa Paws (All ages)Santa Paws is coming to town. Bring your pup to pose with Santa at the Largo Community Center. Santa’s Calling (Youth)Create a wonderful memory for your child as he or she talks to the big man himself. Calls will be made on Tuesday, December 10 between 6p and 8p. If you aren’t available for a call, you may select to receive a personalized letter from Santa. Participants must choose either a phone call or letter. Due to volume of requests, no participant will receive both. Forms are available at all Recreation facilities, Largo Library and online at playlargo.com beginning November 11. Cratchit Family Christmas (All ages)Ever wonder what happened to Ebenezer Scrooge and the Cratchit family after the events of Charles Dickens’ 1843 classic tale, “A Christmas Carol.” Author Paul Mast brings to life the main charac-ters in a 70-minute one-man performance. Afterwards, he will be available to sign copies of his book. Concessions will be available starting at 12:30pm. North Pole Express! (Ages 1 & up)All aboard! Children of all ages are invited to take the North Pole Express on a magical journey through the holiday lights in Largo Central Park, to get to the North Pole. Activities inside the North Pole include crafts, games, cocoa, meeting Santa and more. Sleigh Bells will be given to each child. Please note that children must be 1 & up, to ride the train. Pregnant women and infants are not permitted to ride the train. They may be escorted to the North Pole. However, wristbands are required for every person attending the event. CLEARWATER ANNUAL NIGHT BOAT PARADE Dec 14 Sat 6:30pm – 10pm $39Come join us as we jump aboard our pontoon boat for up close seats for the Clearwater Holiday Boat Parade. Festively decorated boats will parade past Coachman Park around 8:30 p.m. Enjoy coffee, hot cocoa and holiday treats as you watch all the decorated boats. We will even have a Santa raffle on board for holiday gifts. This is an annual holiday event that’s not to be missed!

HOLIDAY LIGHTS TOUR and dinner at TEXAS ROADHOUSE Dec 17 Tues 4pm – 8pm $9/$14You’ll get into the Holiday spirit as we head to Texas Roadhouse for an early dinner then tour the holiday lights. First enjoy a delicious meal at Texas Roadhouse. They have an amazing Early Bird Dining menu afterwards be enchanted at over 3 miles of beautiful holiday decorated houses at the Lights of Lake Park Estates. The Lights of Lake Park Estates originated in 1993 to celebrate the life of their neighbor, Ruby Dow, and salute the care she received from Sun-coast Hospice. This is the 26th year of the Lights of Lake Park. The event has raised over $845,000 since its inception in 1993.

DAY TRIP ENROLLMENT POLICY: Trips with fees of $11 or more must pay a $5 interest fee at registration. The remaining balance will be due when the trip reaches minimum capacity. Should a trip be canceled by the Community Center, the down payment will be applied to the household for use at another time. Any cancellations on the part of participants may not receive a refund. Trips with fees of $10 or less must be paid in full at the time of registration.
