GRASSHOPPER & FIRELIES PICNIC SUNDAY We had a great time together over a relaxed picnic for the little ones and their families! Two children even scored some cool prizes! Jumping castles, kids’ laughter and food… an absolute winner!

KID’S CAMP OUT: BRIDGING THE GAP What an awesome weekend of fun and games, slippery slides, soap suds, glow-in-the-dark duster hockey and great French toast! The Eastside playground was filled with tents and excited children this last weekend – so excited that

Saturday morning started at 4:30am for some of them! Kids showed their creativity with some great bridge construction, as we remembered what kept Jesus hanging on the cross... it wasn’t the nails, but his love for ME!

SUNGARDEN’S SHAVATHON The children of Sungarden Nursery School joined in with many other young children, school pupils and adults across the country to have their hair coloured to show that they care for others. The theme of opposites that the children had followed all week was emphasized during assembly. Pre-schoolers thought about sick and healthy children, those who were sad instead of happy because they were sick and how valuable it is to be kind rather than selfish. Great fun was had as hair was sprayed in bright colours. With touches of glitter and lots of hairspray, everyday hair was turned into a variety of bright styles. Naturally, everyone needed to see themselves in a mirror as well as study their photo. But it was even more awesome when the cans of hair colour were turned on the teachers, and exotic hair styles created! The children loved that! To participate in the hair spraying, families were asked to donate money to help children who had cancer. The money will be used to assist children suffering from cancer. We raised R470 which was deposited into the trust account of Rose-Leigh Emily usher who needs a bone marrow stem cell transplant. Well done to all!

TRAILER MINISTRY UNDERWAY The dates are set and a mission team from Coastal Community Church (U.S.) arrives on 5 July so we can kick off Trailer Ministry, 7 – 13 July. A minimum of two teams will be deployed to under-resourced churches with support team leaders who have committed to serving in the areas of catering, housing, transportation, touring with the U.S. team, and trailer preparation. The mission team leaders are ready, so what’s next? Team members! You can either sign up to go out for a life- changing week or assist a supporting team to make that difference. Sign-ups begin in April. Contact Debbie Warren for more information: [email protected] OR [email protected]

Look! I’m on top of the world!

Dads and kids, if you didn’t make it to rock climbing last week you definitely missed out! What a thrill to see lots of kids conquering their fear of heights and making it all the way to the top! There were some great moments with kids sweating their way to the top while dads sweated in a different way from the ground. The highlight was simply having fathers being able to spend time having fun with their kids.

Bruce & Yolande dedicated Emily, Wayne & Ro-Anne dedicated Katelyn, and Charl & Julie dedicated Justine.

It’s time to camp out! Dads and kids camp coming up soon! The camp will take place at Ezemvelo Nature Reserve from 5 to 6 April. Tents can be booked from the church if needed. Make sure you get signed up for this hope to see you there! Contact Gordon for details: 072 773 4694

This week: The rise and fall of man, and the purpose of man Throughout history we see mankind drawing closer then moving away from God. While those who are saved have the confidence of eternal salvation, the problem of sin has, does, and will continue to affect our intimacy with God. This Sunday morning Mark will be exploring both the problem and the solution of sin and how, as God’s chosen, we can enjoy the intimacy we were created for. On Sunday night he will answer one of the most asked questions, “Why do I exist?” See you at 09:00 and 18:00.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. (1 Cor 16:13-14)
