Librarian Day Celebration (12.08.2016)

Orientation Program of All B.E. 1st Semester Students

On the 12th

August 2016, Librarian day has been celebrated with pride and joy. In the first

session of the celebration B.E. First year students were invited to the library and their orientation

program was carried out. Dr. Mahesh Solanki, Librarian, SRPEC has oriented and motivated

students towards the use of Library, books, reading and learning.

The students were also moved towards the Green Reading section of the Library and Knowledge centre in

which student may sit and study his books in the lap of nature. Also the importance of environment and

background before reading was discussed by Dr. Solanki.

Distribution of Chocolate and serving of snacks

During the orientation program and visit of students into the Library, Chocolates were distributed

to each individual in the joy of celebrating Librarian day. On the day a record 439 entries and

visits of many students were recorded in the library.

Inauguration of Librarian Day Celebration

The main program of the Librarian day celebration was started at 01.30 pm. The program began

with lamp lightening and prayer. The lamp was lightened by Honourable Dr. Ami H. Shah,

Principal, SRPEC, Unjha, library committee Member secretary Dr. Mahesh Solanki, Prof.

Ramesh N. Mevada, H.O.D. Mechanical Engg. Department and Library committee coordinator

Honor of College Librarians

On the Holy occasion of Librarian day. College Librarian Dr. Mahesh Solanki was honoured by

Dr. Ami H. Shah, Principal, SRPEC, Unjha. Where as Ms. Mittal Vaghela, Assistant Librarian

was honoured by Prof. Ramesh N. Mevada, H.O.D., Mechanical Engineering Department.

Speech and Announcement of Celebration of Librarian day

After the inauguration Speech was delivered by Dr. Mahesh Solanki, Orgaiser of the program.

The speech motivated and encouraged the students towards use of library and books. Also he

told the importance of the day and delivered talk about father of library sciences Dr.

S.R.Ranganatahan who has given five laws of Library sciences. After the speech stage was

shared by Prof. Utkarsh Nigam, Library committee coordinator, who told about the importance

of the day and the person on whose birthdate the day is celebrated i.e. about Dr. S. R.

Ranaganathan. Also the rules of the event “BOOK TALK” were explained to the participants.
