Adamya Chetana was started in 1997in the fond memory of
Adamya Chetana's philosophy resonates with
Swami Vivekananda'svision
“each soul is potentially divine"
What started off as a small effort, has today taken a
mammoth form and has benefited lakhs of children
across thousands of schools.
Ananth Kumar's global outlook and vast exposure,
coupled with Tejaswini's eye for details and
meticulous planning and execution has made Adamya Chetana
a social movement that is unique in the country.
The projects of Adamya Chetana have enhanced the Nourishment, Learning and Healthof thousands of under privileged children.
As an NGO, Adamya Chetana feeds
over 2,00,000 under-privileged, needy
school children with Government
support. The hot nutritious midday meal
is cooked at Bengaluru, Hubli, Gulbarga
and Jodhpur in Rajasthan. With an
innovative and path breaking approach,
Adamya Chetana's Midday meal
program has become a role model for
other Midday meal providers across the
country. This has been appreciated
gratefully by thousands of parents,
children, teachers & the public at large.
Adamya chetana cooks for
2 lakh children daily, which has
created economies of scale. Voluntary
participation has further reduced the
costs to around Rs. 2.15 per meal
excluding cost of rice. This includes
cost of oil, vegetables, dal, spices, fuel,
transportation, cooking and other
processing costs. The government
provides rice and Rs. 1.81 per child
towards conversion charges.
Other activities of Adamya Chetana
include a unique mobile resource
facility "Aata Paatha" (play - learn).
The uniqueness of this program is that
a mobile unit, fitted with educational
gadgets like computers, sports
equipments, costumes for drama,
teaching aids, books, drawing & paint
material, audio visual equipments, etc.,
visits different schools situated in
slums of Bengaluru making teaching-
learning a fun experience.
Adamya Chetana as a torchbearer has created a number of unique
interventions that are replicable and first of its kind in the country. One such
step is "Chinnara Chetana" - the Wall magazine of Adamya Chetana.
This colorful monthly wall magazine brings colour to the otherwise drab
walls of Government schools. This wall magazine reaches 23,000 schools
of Karnataka with the support of Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan Misson.
Arogya Chetana, a program focused on providing health cover to the school children was inaugurated by
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalambenefiting thousands of school children, providing them hospitalization
