    COMMUNITY IMPACT

    What is the community problem?

    There are various problems that directly affect the growth of the society. As per thesurvey that conducted among the villagers, we found out that consumption of alcohol and

    smoking among the villagers are higher. As far the seriousness is concerned, we havechosen this topic as our project.

    How is the problem affecting the community?

    As a health issue, it is one of the most dreadful carcinogenic-that causes cancer- that killsmillions of people around the world.

    As far as the economic issue is concerned it will make the financial instability that leads

    to other social impact.

    These problems are also one of the factors that prevent growth of the society.

    Problem-solving techniques used entire process (include

    pictures, if possible

    Interaction with the community to identify the problems through the survey.

    Collection of diseases related to the smoking and alcoholism from PHC Devarahalli.

    Showing them multimedia presentation and explaining its ill-effects.Support the nearby school and college NSS volunteers to take up awareness campaign

    What are the technologies used for problem-solving?

    Multimedia, Printed media,Posters,Flyers,MS Word,MS Excel,MS

    Powerpoint,Paint,Internet,Visual media etc.

    How has the community benefited from the project?

    The community assured that they will follow the steps to reduce the consumption ofalcohol and smoking to create a healthy, prosperous village of alcohol free and smoking

    free.

    How have the students benefited from the project

    Students learned the importance of group activity.Knowledge of using technology in community services.

    Improved their problem solving capacity and communication skills.

    Inculcating concern and commitment towards community services..
