The SP range of control panels are designed to meet the requirements of BS EN 12101 part 9 and 10, used as stand alone panels or part of a BRE shaft system the SP-300 & 600 are versatile panels which can offer the following benefits:

Corridor / Staircase

The Greenwood Corridor / Staircase AOV Ventilator is a low profile louvred natural smoke ventilator which is CE marked and EN tested and certified in accordance with EN12101 – 2.

Stock sizes are available in 1.0m2 and 1.5m2 for immediate delivery. Made to measure sizes are available on request.

The ventilator can be supplied with a local BBU (Battery Back Up) for 72 hours.

The ventilator is manufactured from corrosion resistant aluminium. External water drainage ensures rain water does not enter the building. The ventilator is supplied as a standard unit with a 24V DC electric actuator.

This lobby vent has been designed to meet the requirements of both UL555 (fire) and UL55S (high temperature smoke).

The unit is dual purpose, providing fire rating (tested to FD30s) while closed, and smoke ventilation when in the open position.

The operation of the Tyco-manufactured door is by drive-open and drive-close powered by a 24v folding arm actuator from Simon RWA.

Base Types & InstallationSuitable for fixing in a wide variety of applications. The ventilator is supplied in two parts to facilitate easy installation on site, the base assembly and louvre box assembly. The base types and applications are as follows:.

• Turndown Base - mounting onto weathered roof upstand• Rear Fixing Flange - mounting directly onto roof sheeting• Front Fixing Flange - integrating into glazing systems

Can also be supplied with a hinged base for use as an access hatch.

Louvre Blade U-valuesCan be supplied with both insulated louvre blades and an insulated body to assist in

ensuring the building is adequately insulated.

The comparative U-Values for the available louvre blades options are as follows;

Translucent polycarbonate louvre blades provide excellent daylighting using a

durable UV stabilised material. When closed it can provide an average diffused light

transmission in excess of 80%, enabling savings on artificial lighting. Pile weather

seals are also fitted to the louvre blade edges and sides to minimise heat loss.

TestingThe ventilator has been tested to BS EN 12101 – Part 2: 2003: Specification for natural

and heat exhaust ventilators. When closed the ventilator is weatherproof and is tested to

The Greenwood glass louvre is a product which in itself is a system – easily extended and adapted to integrate with 21st century structures.

Not only is it suitable for installation into all types of vertical glazing and curtain walling façades; its slimline profile easily adapts for integration into non glazed composite structures and blends equally with traditional building designs.

The glass louvre system offers the design team unique opportunities to specify inconspicuous units which will fulfill any natural and or smoke ventilation requirement.

The glass louvre is an environmentally friendly product incorporating all the recyclable and sustainable elements of aluminium and the efficient thermal properties of polyamide thermal break. Thus you have a high performance thermally efficient product. It is the perfect solution for modern day buildings.

Glass louvre installations give the occupants good daylight, efficient natural ventilation and the confidence that in an emergency, they can be used as part of a natural Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation System (SHEVS).

DesignThe Greenwood glass louvre system is designed around a proven combination

of aluminium blade channels, extruded aluminium frames and adaptors

to meet the requirements of specifiers. This aesthetically pleasing product

matches modern building design coupled with high integrity engineering

whilst meeting all technical standards.

The concealed blade operating mechanism housed within the perimeter

frame gives the louvre a clean uncluttered appearance. When closed the

security blade channels prevent removal of glass blades and all fixings are

concealed and inaccessible.

GL-EMV-Vent smoke vents are electrically operated smoke vents that allow the release of smoke and heat from buildings in the case of fire. This ensures key escape routes such as stairwells and corridors stay accessible with minimal smoke build-up.

DescriptionGL-EMV-Vent smoke vents are principally designed for smoke and heat extraction in protected stairwells and corridors within residential apartments, hotels, shops and offices.

There is a choice of polycarbonate rooflights in single, double, triple, quad skin or aluminium insulated solid cover. The rooflights are thermoformed from UV protected co-extruded polycarbonate sheet. The aluminium insulated solid covers are available as mill finish or powder coated to any RAL colour. The actuator is 24v DC electric and opens the unit to 160° within 6o seconds. A range of upstands are available to accommodate roof insulation, with a wide range of stock sizes. Em-Vent smoke vents may be used for roof access and provide natural ventilation.

GL-EMV-Vent smoke vents are available as square, circular or rectangular.

DescriptionEm-Vent smoke vents are principally designed for smoke and heat extraction in protected stairwells and corridors within residential apartments, hotels, shops and offices.

There is a choice of polycarbonate rooflights in single, double, triple, quad skin or aluminium insulated solid cover. The rooflights are thermoformed from UV protected co-extruded polycarbonate sheet. The aluminium insulated solid covers are available as mill finish or powder coated to any RAL colour. The actuator is 24v DC electric and opens the unit to 160° within 6o seconds. A range of upstands are available to accommodate roof insulation, with a wide range of stock sizes. Em-Vent smoke vents may be used for roof access and provide natural ventilation.

GL-EMV-Vent RooflightsThermoformed from polycarbonate sheet and available in single, double, triple and quad skin.

Polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable, with an impact strength up to 250 times greater than glass.

GL-EMV-Vents can be supplied in clear, opal diffused, bronze or ‘HeatReflect’ (reflects up to 68% of the heat radiation) glazing.

All polycarbonate Em-Vents have a minimum of 3mm outer thick glazing. Inner skin thickness may vary.

GL-EMV-Vent solid insulated coverThe solid insulated cover can be provided as mill finish aluminium or polyester powder coated to any standard RAL colour. It is available insulated with a 32mm panel or a 64mm panel providing exceptional thermal insulation values.

CertificationGL-EMV-Vent rooflights are ‘out of plane’ rooflights and provided they are specified with polycarbonate glazing, they can be deemed to be ‘non-fragile’. Em-Vent polycarbonate rooflights have undergone large body impact testing by an independent accredited test organisation. Test certificates are available to demonstrate compliance to an energy level of 1200 joules when tested to pr EN 1873, and ACR(M)001: 2005 to Class B.

They have also undergone hard body impact testing according to NBN EN 13964:2007. Polycarbonate rooflights have been awarded BBA Certificate No. 00/4691 and are manufactured to ISO 9001. They are manufactured in accordance with European standards and hold a CE mark according to EN 1873. Rooflights, upstands and hinged opening frames are certified as providing adequate resistance to precipitation, according to EN 1873 weathertightness.

Splayed upstands give an excellent spread of light through the room; vertical units are available where the dimensions of the roof aperture need to be maintained.

The standard upstand is made from extruded white PVC-u. The multi-chambered construction gives an exceptionally robust and thermally efficient performance. This upstand is suitable for most roof finishes and is available in heights of 150, 300 and 350mm; GRP upstands are also available with integral polyurethane foam insulation in heights of 300 and 500mm.

two parts to facilitate easy installation on site, the base assembly and louvre

box assembly. The base types and applications are as follows:

Our Centrifugal Smoke Fans Guardian are ideal for underground or enclosed structures,especially car parks. A high-powered, duct-free solution, using centrifugal fans means lower installation, maintenance and running costs.

The slim profile allows car park designers to overcome issues caused by obtrusive structural beams and low overall ceiling

heights without compromising performance. The fan’s outlet design ensures efficient uni-directional movement of the airflow into the designated area.

Given the high-power nature of the centrifugal fan, it can produce a high-velocity jet which adds momentum to the air in front of the fan, imparting thrust to surrounding air through mixing and entrainment as it diffuses. The volume of air entrained is significantly greater than that passing through the fan.

MaterialsThese Centrifugal Smoke Fans are independently tested to meet the exacting standards of EN 12101-3:2002, ensuring that in fire situations they operate for up to two hours in 300°C conditions.

Performance is tested to BS848-10:1999 Fans for general purposes. The slim-profile centrifugal is supplied with a fitted IP55 terminal box as standard, with an optional IP65 lockable fire rated isolator if required.

SpecificationThe centrifugal range comprises 50N or 100N thrust types, suitable for ambient temperature operation plus once only 300°C for 2 hour high temperature smoke conditions to European Standard EN12101–3:2002. The two speed motor is suitable for frequency inverter speed control on high speed.

CasingThe all metal fan casing provides a robust construction, assisted by the long lasting paint finish (optional) or standard galvanised steel. The integral mounting flanges on the casing allow the unit to be mounted easily to the structure. All casing parts are manufactured from heavy gauge mild sheet steel powder coated as standard.

ImpellerBackward curved centrifugal impellers are used to ensure high aerodynamic efficiency. Impellers are manufactured from mild steel. Impeller assemblies are dynamically balanced to Grade G6.3.

MotorsMotors are totally enclosed airstream cooled, protected to IP55. Each motor is matched to the aerodynamic performance of the impeller. Motors are Class H insulation for normal continuous duty at 40°C, with effective operation during smoke conditions once only of 300°C for two hours. The unit is supplied as standard with a fitted IP55 terminal box or an optional IP65 lockable fire rated isolator.

Quality managementUnits are designed and manufactured with procedures as defined in BS EN ISO 9001: 2000.

All centrifugal units are tested at elevated temperatures in accordance with the requirements of the European standard EN12101–3:2002 and certified accordingly.

Designed with car parks and underground structures in mind, Axial Smoke Fans are a compact solution that can replace traditional ducted ventilation.

Suitable for relieving build-up of harmful gases in day-to-day use and directing smoke toward extraction points in the event of a fire, these Axial Smoke Fans produce a high velocity jet which

adds momentum to the air in front of the fan, imparting thrust to the surrounding air via mixing and entrainment as it diffuses. These fans are also available with truly reversible motors.

The small size increases ceiling clearance and reduces clutter and obstruction to CCTV cameras in the car park. The fan is powerful enough to operate in situations where there are structural obstacles to airflow such as pillars and down-standings.

MaterialsManufactured to the European Standard EN12101-3:2002, Axial Smoke Fans can operate in ambient temperatures up to 40°C, and can be relied upon in a fire event to operate for twohours up to 300°C.

The impellers are constructed from pressure die cast aluminium (LM24) and aluminium alloy (LM6), dynamically balanced to ISO Grade G6.3. Casing is robust sheet steel hot dipped galvanised after fabrication to BS 729. Motors are totally enclosed, airstream cooled, metric frame protected to IP55, with the complete units being manufactured to BS EN ISO 9001:2000.

Accessories and colour variants are available.

SpecificationThis fan range comprises multiple thrust types, suitable for ambient temperature operation (at 40ºC) plus a one off operation at 200ºC or 300ºC for 2 hour high temperature smoke conditions to European Standard EN12101-3:2002.

ImpellerAdjustable pitch aerofoil section impellers are provided with blades made from high quality pressure die cast aluminium alloy (LM6). Hubs are made from pressure die cast aluminium (LM24). The assembled impellers have their blades positively locked by pinning, which provides added security for operation in the smoke regime. Impellers are dynamically balanced to Grade G6.3.

SilencersIntegral inlet and outlet silencers are mounted to either side of the fan housing, with an integral bell mouth to provide reduced sound levels and optimal performance. Silencers are constructed from a pre-galvanised sheet steel outer and pre-galvanised perforated sheet inner lining. The inlet silencer has a zinc plated guard attached, whilst the outer silencer has a deflector fitted to guide the air in the direction required.

NOTE: All accessories for these units are incorporated during testing to ensure accurate thrust test figures are obtained from our thrust rig.

CasingAxial Smoke Control fans are of robust, heavy duty construction for added strength and durability. Fan casings are heavy gauge, sheet steel, roll formed, welded and hot dipped galvanised after fabrication to BS 729. The integral 4-Point mounting feet allow the unit to be mounted easily to the ceiling.

MotorsMotors are totally enclosed airstream cooled, metric frame protected to IP55. Motors have Class F or Class H insulation and are rated for normal continuous duty at 40ºC and once only emergency operation in smoke conditions of 200ºC or 300ºC for 2 hours. Motors are either single speed or two speed with a truly reversible motor option.

nel SHEV 3, respectively SHEV 6 (out-

put 3 Ampere and 6 Ampere). It is de-

signed as a compact control panel,

which is approved according to

ISO 21927-9 (prEN 12101-9) and

DIN EN 12101-10. The control panel

contains primary and secondary ener-

gy supply as well as the whole control

technique for the operation of 24 Volt

DC-actuators at building openings.

The compact control panel operates

the actuators in case of fire and for

daily ventilation.

Special ventilation functions (gap ventilation, dead man function, automatic ventilation) are free

and individually programmable for the user. The daily ventilation function is also always a function
