    4.2 Theory of operationWow & Futter is a frequency llloduated signa which isgeneratd by the nOunifolIn tape speed of the recordingdevice. In theory a wOw & Futter Meter is si, to a FMreceiver. Refer to Figure 4-lr SillLPfied bock diagrallL.

    Wow & Futter Meters neasure tape speed by detecting thedeviation oft the prerecorded test tone freqtlency(31kHz,3,15kHz for DIN.
