Smile Train Publicizes Surgery Training Tool at SXSW Interactive 2015

Smile Train recently announced that it presented its Virtual Surgery Simulator at SXSW Interactive in March 2015. Developed in partnership with the tech firm BioDigital, the Web-based, 3D Virtual Surgery Simulator was created as a training solution for cleft surgeons worldwide. The interactive tool provides local surgeons with crucial training on cleft surgical repair procedures and cleft anatomy, thereby empowering them to perform surgeries for children with clefts in their own communities. By overcoming language barriers and training local cleft surgeons with the simulator, Smile Train has helped more children around the world gain access to necessary surgeries.

The sustainable training tool was launched in 2013, and Smile Train publicized the technology at the most recent SXSW Interactive, an event known for combining innovative technology and groundbreaking ideas.
