Drawing on their extensive experience in the test and evaluation domain, Ordinance Test Solutions Ltd shall lead a general forum on the application of trials and evaluation in future armoured vehicle procurement, from development through to acceptance into service.

Workshop Leader

David was initially a researcher at the UK Defence Academy, becoming a lecturer in ballistics for over 20 years. During that time David was also an advisor to the UK MOD Directorate for Light Weapons Procurement, and sat on UK committees for weapon proof and ammunition procurement, was a member of the UK Future Small Arms Programme, and he represented the UK on various NATO committees. David also supported ballistic research for MOD and commercial development. His support of trials analysis lead to him becoming one of the founders of Ordnance Test Solutions Ltd, which facilitates Trials & Evaluation services to the defence community, notably supporting national and international armoured fighting vehicle, cannon and large calibre weapon programmes. He is the author of computer codes for internal & external ballistics, fragmentation arena trial assessment and lethality, and devised the CPA (critical penetration analysis). His scientific papers in ballistics also include gun proof statistics, detonics and magneto-hydrodynamics. Additionally, David is the inventor of the textile armour now known as Tarian and deployed on UK and Danish armoured vehicles.
