Confed School for Professional Studies (CSPS) is the leading and one of the pioneers

in offering Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business) course. HND is a 2 yearprogram; this two-year program provides the students with an opportunity to completetheir related bachelors degree in the United Kingdom at institutes such as University ofHertfordshire, and Northumbria University within a period of one year. However,students also have an option to go directly to Masters Program of any PakistaniUniversity, as HND is recognized equivalent to two-year bachelor by Higher EducationCommission, Pakistan. Scope of HND is increasing day by day because of HND is morepractical than BBA plus one gets more chance of learning in HND as compared to BBAas HND is a foreign education.

After completing your two year HND program at CSPS, students can now either apply

for UK for the third year where they will get BA Degree or they can simply do Mastersdirectly in Pakistan, because HND is equivalent to two years bachelor by HigherEducation Commission.

Apart from HND in Business, CSPS also provides education consultancy and careeradvice services. The institute offers an extensive knowledge to students about theirchosen overseas institution by covering all the fundamental aspects such as academic,social, financial, and personal.

CSPS does not only presents their services in Peshawar only, but they also providesservices in other cities of Pakistan such as Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. In order to

satisfy their and entertain students CSPS is wireless internet service in all the areas ofthe CONFED, plus to assist students in learning to the peak degrees CSPS hasComputer Lab along with a library with a numerous collection of different booksregarding HND and other subjects.

Legal form of the business:

CSPS is a partnership business between three people, Sir Sajid Fahim (AcademicDirector of CONFED), Sir Yasir Anwar (Operation Director) and Sir Naji ullah Khattak(Marketing Director & Students Counseling Director).

Duties of the key people of CSPS:

According to our findings and observations, Sir Sajid Fahim is responsible for runningthe overall Confeds HND Department in academics and he also deals studentsproblems. Sir Sajid Fahim also teaches different subjects such as BusinessEnvironment (1st Semester), Business Strategy (2nd Semester), Small BusinessEnterprise (2ndSemester) and Advertisement & Promotion (4thSemester).

Sir Yasir Anwar is responsible for the maintenance of staff that he has to findappropriate teachers for the different subjects of the HND and other courses. He is alsoresponsible for the cleanliness of the overall CSPS. Furthermore, he is also responsiblefor the prospectus ideas etc.

As mentioned above that Sir Najiullah Khattak is a Marketing Director therefore he isresponsible for the promotional activities of the CSPS. CSPS usually promotes theirbusiness through newspapers, billboards and by having their own domain in the nameofwww.confed.pk.

Review of the performance of CSPS in term of Marketing:According to our findings and observation Sir Najiullah Khattak is the Marketing Directorof CSPS and hence responsible for the marketing activities of the CSPS. As mentionedabove CSPS promotes their institute through newspapers, billboards and throughinternet. CSPS has their own as well and they have their face book page too.

Review of the performance of CSPS in term of Operation:As the figure below shows as well that Director of Operation is Sir Yasir Anwar atCSPS. He is basically responsible for maintaining the staff for the different subjects ofHND and other courses, looking after the security procedure and all. Furthermore, Sir

Yassir Anwar is also responsible for keeping the CONFED clean that is he looks atcleaners so that a clean environment is provided to the students. He has alsodeveloped prospectus for the CSPS which is a great communication tools for attractingstudents. Sir Yasir Anwar also teaches different subjects at CSPS.

Review of the performance of the CSPS in term of Finance:

We were not given much information regarding the financial performance of CSPS dueto some reasonable reasons, but hardly we were able to find out that there overallworking capital of CSPS last year was Rs. 11, 51,000 and cash flow was 400000. Interm of finance CSPS has also some endowment funds as for the safety andemergency cases. They also fine the students by submitting there fee late as per headthey charge RS 1000.

Analysis of the Marketing, Operation and Finance Departments of CSPS:

According to market observation and by conducting meetings with the students wecame to know that CSPS not promoting their institute on the regular basis. They usuallyrun their billboard advertise very often. Furthermore, according to our personalobservation of the market about Brains HND program is that they have become famousin a very short interval of time plus they are now a days also attracting Accountingstudents such as students of FIA (previously called as CAT) due to which now a days

students are not joining FIA but they are joining HND at Brains because by studyingHND at Brains students will have a chance to attempt only three papers in ACCA whichis really appreciated by the students. Therefore, we would say that the performance ofthe Marketing Department of CSPS is not good.

Furthermore, one of the major competitors of CSPS is Edwards College Peshawar.Their Competitive advantage over CSPS is that they charge low fee as compare toCSPS because Edwards College Peshawar is semi-government institute. Othercompetitors now a day involves Peshawar, PEF and Brains.

According to our personal observation Operation Department is performing well ascompared to the Marketing Department of CSPS because there is always a good andclean environment at CSPS, but the students faces bit of a problem with the teachersbecause as the teachers on the contract basis hiring appropriate teachers sometimesbecomes difficult.

M1;

On the basis of P2 we can surely say that Confed (CSPS) is providing HND inPeshawar and is counted as one of the top institutions in the city. They are havingexceptionally competent and caring staff that provides valuable services ranging from

expert counseling, to establishing a prompt interaction channel between a student andhis chosen overseas institution. Additionally Confed also provide an excellentassistance in obtaining student or immigrant visas. A staggering visa success rate of93% proves their staff members dedication and hard work toward the students ofConfed (CSPS).

Confed may be second in number as compared to the Edwards (in student strengthcategory) but there is no doubt about the quality of education that CSPS is providing inHND business which is up to high level cant be compared with Edwards. At last I wouldalso like to say that these days the business of Confed (CSPS) is in progress which isdoing well according to the business and its a plus point. It shows the rate of students

willing to get admission in CSPS as compared to the Edwards is getting higher day byday which is a strong competitor of CSPS in HND. The reason behind this is a highquality education that they are providing and with a friendly environment.
