SMC Peer-‐to-‐Peer (PTP) Tutoring Program

Tutors may work with up to three students on the same subject at the same time. If you are tutoring a subject that more than one student needs help with, try one or more of these tips:

يمكن للمعلم العمل مع ما يصل عددهم إلى ثالثة طالب على نفس املادة في نفس الوقت. إذا كنت تدرس مادة يحتاج أكثر من طالب املساعدة فيها، حاول أن تجرب واحدة أو أكثر من النصائح التالية:

Small Group or Drop-‐in Center PTP Tutoring

o  Work with all students on the same problem or example at the same time.

o  اعمل مع جميع الطالب على نفس املسألة أو .ا

Small Group or Drop-in Center PTP Tutoring

o  Direct each student to work on a problem. Rotate from student to student providing help.

وجه كل طالب للعمل على املسألة. تحرك بالتناوب من طالب إلى طالب لتقديم املساعدة.

o  Pair students and have them work together on a problem or question. Check up with each pair.

رتب الطالب في أزواج، واجعلهم يعملون معا على حل املسألة أو السؤال. افحص االجابات مع كل زوج من الطالب.

Faculty mentors will often work in the PTP Center and hold sessions. You are encouraged to sit in and assist

students as directed by the faculty member.

 Study Group Sessions

 Some tutors who have been trained to work with a study group will help the group get organized and started. You will have help from the PTP Team. After groups are taught how to work together, they can continue together on their own. You will then be assigned a new study group.

جلسات املجموعات الدراسية  بعض املعلمني الذين تدربوا للعمل مع مجموعة  

دراسية سيساعدون في تنظيم وبدء املجموعة. ستحظى بكل املساعدة من فريق برنامج تعليم

األقران. وبعد أن يتم املعلم تدريب أعضاء املجموعات الدراسية على كيفية العمل معـاً،

 Build a Rela*onship First -‐ Before you can start to help someone in a tutoring capacity, it is important to build a relationship. In the first session, take a little time to share a few things about yourself and encourage your student to do the same.

 

قم ببناء عالقة ودية أوالً - قبل أن تتمكن  من البدء في مساعدة أحد األشخاص بوصفك كمعلم، فمن املهم أوالً أن تبني

 Take Time for Time Management - Start sessions by asking students what they hope to get out the lesson. Ask about any deadlines related to their work. The counselors also offer Time Management workshops.

خذ بعضـاً من الوقت إلدارة الوقت -  ابدا الجلسة بسؤال الطالب عما ما

يأملون الخروج به من الدرس. اسأل عن أي مواعيد تسليم نهائية متصلة بأعمالهم/واجباتهم. يقدم املرشدون أيضـاً ورش عمل حول إدارة الوقت.


 Help Students Set Session Goals - Students should come to the session ready to get help on a specific task, problem, or assignment. Help students focus on what is the most important thing they hope to accomplish in the tutoring session.

ساعد الطالب في وضع أهداف الجلسة  – يجب على الطالب أن يأتوا إلى

الجلسة وهم جاهزين للحصول على املساعدة في أحد املهام أو املسائل أو الواجبات املحددة. ساعد الطالب في

التركيز على أهم هدف يأملون في إنجازه في الجلسة التعليمية.


 Encourage Students to Be Organized - If you notice that students have a disorganized notebook or come to sessions without notebooks or assignment sheets, ask them to come prepared the next session. You may give tips on note taking. The PTP Center also offers Note Taking workshops.

شجع الطالب على النظام- إذا الحظت  أن الطالب لديهم دفتر مالحظات غير

منظم أو يأتون إلى الجلسات بدون دفاتر املالحظات أو أوراق الواجبات، اطلب

منهم املجىء وهم مستعدون في الجلسة املقبلة. يمكنك إعطاءهم بعض النصائح

حول تدوين املالحظات. يقدم مركز تعليم األقران أيضـاً ورش عمل عن كيفية تدوين

املالحظات واملذكرات.


 Model for Students, But Don’t Do the Work for Them - After watching a student work through a problem they are still having problems with, make a similar problem, and solve it with the student.

كن نموذجـاً للطالب، ولكن ال  تؤدي واجباتهم نيابة عنهم - بعد مراقبة أداء الطالب في إحدى املسائل التي ال يزال

يواجه مشاكل معها، أعط مثال ملسألة مماثلة، وقم بإيجاد حل

لها مع الطالب.


 Think Out Loud - As you solve a model problem, say what you are thinking out loud as you work through the problem.

فكر بصوت عال – أثناء  عملك على إيجاد حل

إلحدى املسائل النموذجية، قل ما تفكر فيه بصوت عال

وأنت تعمل على حل هذه املسألة.


 Break Complicated Tasks into Smaller Chunks and Use Bilingual Cues

 Let the Student Do Much of the Talking - Be sure that students are actively engaged in the tutoring session. Have the students answer your questions about what should be done next, done differently, or changed.

دع الطالب يقوم باكثر الحديث - تأكد من  أن الطالب يشاركون بفعالية في الجلسة

التعليمية. اجعل الطالب يجيبون على أسئلتك حول ما ينبغي فعله في الخطوة

التالية، أو فعله بشكل مختلف، أو تغييره.


 Stay Positive and Encouraging - Tutees can become frustrated and discouraged when they don’t master a skill in a short time. As tutor, use positive feedback and tell the students what they have done right.

كن إيجابيـاً ومشجعـاً - قد يشعر املتعلمني  باالحباط والتثبيط عندما ال يتقنون مهارة

ما في وقت قصير. كمعلم استخدم التعليقات اإليجابية واخبر الطالب عما

فعلوه بشكل صحيح.


 Decide What to do Next Time - Help the student make a plan for the next session. You may also help the student write questions to ask the instructor.

قرر ما ينبغي فعله في الجلسة القادمة –  ساعد الطالب في وضع خطة للجلسة

التعليمية املقبلة. يمكنك أيضـاً مساعدة الطالب في كتابة األسئلة لطرحها على
