Version 3.2 7 Call Recording Solution

1 Introduction This document lists new features, resolved issues and known issues in AudioCodes SmartTAP Version 3.2.

1.1 About SmartTAP AudioCodes' SmartTAP for Microsoft Skype for Business is a certified and secure call recording solution that enables the recording of key business interactions within a Microsoft Skype for Business environment. SmartTAP is compatible with VoIP, TDM, and hybrid telephony environments. SmartTAP is an enterprise-wide compliance and liability recorder. Though most recorders in the market focus on Contact Center features, SmartTAP is deployed across the enterprise to capture calls, either on-demand or, in some cases, full time, when calls about compliance and liability occur more frequently. With an integral Skype for Business recording toolbar, enterprise users can record with SmartTAP anywhere and anytime they are on Skype for Business calls. SmartTAP can initially be deployed on a small scale and be scaled up to support many thousands of users using the product’s linear scalability feature.

2 New Features in Version 3.2 SmartTAP Version 3.2 offers the following new features: Recording of Microsoft Skype for Business instant messages (IM). A user may be

assigned to an IM only, or IM and Audio recording profile. A powerful full text search capability enables searching conversations or messages containing defined strings. • Recording of peer-to-peer IM sessions. • Persistent chat and IM conferences will be supported in a future release.

Recording of calls between a user and an external call party (which doesn’t belong to the corporate domain).

Enhanced Announcement Server capabilities: • Playing announcements to external call parties (PSTN, Federated, caller, or

callee). • Playing Music on Hold (MoH) to agents while the answering external party is in

an announcement session. • Enabling external parties to give consent to record calls or to opt for a not

recorded call, using a basic interactive voice response (IVR), for example: “This call may be recorded for quality assurance purposes. Press 1 to accept, press 0 to continue without recording.”

• Text-to-speech support in 26 languages. Call's media storage by geographical location. Multi-language support for pre-defined user attribute values. 3.2.0 GA 7265 Critical For Skype for Business integrations, targeted calls may get disconnected if one endpoint adds video to the session and the other endpoint is not video-capable.

3.2.0 GA 7012 Critical For Skype for Business integrations, targeted calls may get disconnected if both endpoints add video at the same time.

3.2.0 GA 7008 High On startup, the Lync Plug-in service may prevent calls from being recorded for up to five minutes. Fixed to use the default of five seconds.

3.2.0 GA 7093 High Some registration errors of Avaya extensions caused SmartTAP AES integration stop recording the extension. This is fixed by retrying the registration for the extensions

Med Added a custom installation option to various SmartTAP installers that were missing this feature.

3.2.0 GA 7092 Med If the DMCC service on the AES server goes down, the SmartTAP AES Adapter would reconnect, but it re-register for the same extensions, causing duplicate call records.

3.2.0 GA 6836 Critical For Skype for Business integrations, when adding video to an existing call, the call may be disconnected.

3.2.0 GA 7111 High Peer-to-peer video calls were getting dropped or experienced poor quality on systems using Media Proxy. A configuration parameter was added to the Lync Plug-in component to optionally allow video to be routed through the Media Proxy, but to disable that routing by default.

3.2.0 GA 7112 Med Changes to recording profiles added to audit trail.

3.2.0 GA 7115 High For AES integrations, call records are marked as “Abandoned” instead of “Normal” for outgoing calls when the answering party cannot be found.

3.2.0 GA 7285 Med LDAP users targeted for recording were not getting their LDAP attributes persisted in the SmartTAP database. This results in the data being lost if the user is subsequently deleted from LDAP.

4 Known Issues in Version 3.2 Following are the known issues in the SmartTAP version 3.2 release:

3.0.0 6520 Low The SmartTAP GUI does not allow the ‘User Attribute Description’ field to be more than 45 characters.

3.1.0 7023 Low When uploading an image file to GUI, if the file is too large, the error message reports the wrong reason for the failure.

3.1.1 7179 Med The end of an audio recording for AES calls can have poor quality for outgoing calls.

3.1.1 7170 Med Calls on hold might show an extra extension for the "Called Party" in AES integrations.

Med During an upgrade of the Application Server and Communication Server, the installers may mistakenly stop and ask the user to choose between a “Complete” or “Custom” installation. This should only occur during a fresh install. If the component was installed to a custom location, make sure the correct location is still set in the “Custom” dialog box.

3.2.0 7342 Med The consent information for outbound IVR calls is missing from the call metadata.

3.2.0 7332 High For integrations with CloudBond 365, targeted online users are not recorded. Online users are users that are registered to the Microsoft cloud.

3.2.0 7346 High The Communication Server Service must be restarted after installing it in a distributed environment. This ensures that certain database tables are installed properly before calls can be recorded.
