    Site Requirements

    All CoolantLoop Systems are manufactured to industrial grade standards. Process tanksare welded inside and out and have a painted exterior. On most systems, the tanks arechannel reinforced and tank bottoms have support beams. We use non stalling air operateddiaphragm pumps with poly body and viton wetted parts. (Electric pumps are also availablewhen required.) Standard filtration includes a Size #2 bag filter housing, however, anumber of optional polishing filtration devices are available based on the particular needsof your shop. All CoolantLoop systems incorporate the SmartSkim world renown 304stainless steel floating suction skimmers and Crossflow Separators. Systems are shippedcomplete with all fittings, piping, hoses and valves to make a complete assembly.

    Materials of Construction

    Air: Systems needs 30 PSI of clean dry plant air. Entire system uses approximately 5-10SCFM of air. Electric: No electric typically required except when optional ozonator is used. Ozonatorsupplied with standard 110V plug. Piping: Only customer piping required is for the tramp oil discharge to the customersupplied drum or tote. Water: " NPT water line at 40 PSI for coolant makeup proportioner. Maintenance: System should be cleaned periodically as needed depend- ing oncontamination loading, type of coolant used, pre-filtration available and maintenancepractices of plant. Total system cleaning of once per year is recommended.

    Process Description

    A. Dirty coolant is delivered to the inlet side of the

    CoolantLoop

    System by sump sucker or drum vac, or

    manually, passing through an optional large

    strainer/filter at the inlet for capturing large debris

    such as chips, ear plugs, etc.

    B. The multi-patented SmartSkim floating suction

    skimmer continuously skims the top most layers by

    suction.

    C. The transfer pump moves the skimmed fluids through the CrossFlow Separator.

    D. The SmartSkim open channel coalescing CrossFlow Separator removes free & mechanically dispersed tramp oils and gross

    solids by gravity only, without filters or plastic coalescing media.

    E. Clean treated fluids gravity flow from the CrossFlow Separator onto a proprietary weir with thin film overflow and into the

    clean tank which then allows the coolant to continuously overflow back into the inlet/dirty side for further processing. This

    provides continuous aeration of the coolant as it cascades and also allows for multi pass filtration via the total recirculation of

    the system. There is no stagnant coolant in the CoolantLoop.

    F. Captured oil gravity drains automatically to a capture barrel or tote. Settled solids can be purged manually on demand through

    the angled bottom discharge.

    G. The FilterLoop

    coolant recirculation keeps the clean side moving and filtered. Includes a polishing bag filter and optional sub

    micron magnetic in-line separator which is available for steel and cast iron applications. When clean coolant is needed, use the

    FilterLoop pump to supply your portable container for return to the coolant sumps or you can pump clean, treated coolant

    make up directly back to the machines via a distribution piping system.

    H. Water/coolant make up is done automatically in the inlet/dirty tank as level drops & keeps the system operational.

    I. An Optional Ozonator can be used to disperse O3 to kill bacteria, fungus, yeast, and mold as well as destroying their associated

    Ozone is a natural choice as a bacteria and odor control system for managing all types and brands of metal working fluids.     The CrossFlow Separator takes up very little floor space. The unit measures 48" wide

    x 14" deep x 24" tall. In most instances the separator can be attached to existing

    parts washers or other structures. We sell an optional stand that provides for ease of

    installation. Due to the nature of the gravity discharge, our separator needs to be

    installed with the outlet port above the level of the fluid that it is cleaning.

    The standard suction skimmer that is included with our systems requires an area of

    12" x 12" x 18" deep within the source tank where it will be installed. Other suction

    skimmers are available to deal with restricted space constrains, shallow fluid levels

    and large fluid level fluctuations.

    Sizing

    Our multi-patented SmartSkim Suction skimmer is mounted in your tank

    and continuously removes the topmost oily layer. Skimmed oily fluids are

    pumped through the separator where floating

    contaminants are separated. Clean fluids return

    by gravity to the source tank. Inside the

    SmartSkim CrossFlow, there is no plastic

    coalescer media, filters, or consumables of any

    kind. Our proprietary open channel platepack

    system separates and removes floating oils and

    solids by gravity only. This makes maintenance fast and easy. Open channels

    do not plug. SmartSkim systems just run and run. Oil that is captured inside

    the separator gravity drains automatically to a

    capture drum. This oil is typically dry enough to

    sell or recycle. No electrical panels or hook ups are

    normally necessary. The CrossFlow System is

    entirely pneumatic. It runs on plant air, typically

    using just 3-5 CFM. Just plug and play!

    The SmartSkim V3 Vertical System sets the industry standard for skimming andseparating floating oil and solids from industrial fluids. It is designed as a simple,trouble-free solution for removing free floating and mechanically dispersed tramp oils from wash tanks, individual machine coolant sumps and many othermanufacturing process fluids. Based on gravity flow and coalescence, the V3Vertical Separator can reduce tramp oils to less than 1% in a single pass.   • V3 Vertical System

    Our multi-patented SmartSkim suction skimmer is mounted in

    your tank and continuously removes the topmost oily layer.

    Skimmed oily fluids are pumped through the separator where

    floating contaminants are separated. Clean fluids return by gravity

    to the source tank. Inside the SmartSkim V3 Separator, there are no

    plastic coalescer media, filters, or consumables of any kind. Our

    proprietary open channel system separates and removes floating

    oils and solids by gravity only. This makes maintenance fast and

    easy. Open channels do not plug. SmartSkim systems just run and

    run. Oil that is captured inside the separator gravity drains

    automatically to a capture drum. This oil is typically dry enough

    to sell or recycle. No electrical panels or hook ups are normally

    necessary. The Vertical System is entirely pneumatic. It runs on

    plant air, typically using just 1 - 3 CFM. Just plug and play!

    The V3 Vertical Separator takes up very little floor space. The unit has a footprint of 25" x13" x 76" tall. The standard unit includes a pedestal mounting stand, but the separator canprovided without the stand and could then be attached to existing tank or other structures.Due to the nature of the gravity discharge, our separator needs to be installed with theclean outlet port above the level of the fluid that it is cleaning. The standard suctionskimmer that is included with our systems requires an area of 12"x12"x14" deep withinthe source tank that it will be installed. Other suction skimmers are available to deal withrestricted space constrains or low fluid levels.

    What sets us apart is our raised pole drumconstruction and the logic employed to index thedrum, automatically on demand. Compared tosmooth cylindrical drums that rotate continuously,our raised pole design provides 40% more magneticsurface area per linear foot. And because thedrum is not rotated continuously, the capturedcontaminants being discharged are drier whichreduces coolant loss.     F23 - 2.3 Cubic Foot Filter (Optional)

    With a 2.3 cubic foot capacity, the F23 filter is fitted for

    fork lift or hook hoist handling. Patented compound

    linkage and rotary latch control the bottom opening

    door for safe emptying. The filter assembly comes

    complete with a polypropylene filter sleeve. The F23

    filter is optional on the SA5. Optional fine weave

    polypropylene filter sleeve available.

    F10 - 1.0 Cubic Foot Filter

    The F10 strainer basket and fabric liner has a capacity

    of 1.0 cubic foot and is standard on the SA5. The

    reusable filter has built in grips and is small enough for

    one person to lift. Coarse, fine and polypropylene filter

    bags come standard with the F10 filter basket.

  • F50 - 5.0 Cubic Foot Filter

    The extra capacity filter, the F50, has a capacity of 5 cubic

    feet and is standard on tank sizes 250/250 and 300/300.

    The filter consists of a perforated metal outer basket with a

    polypropylene mesh liner sleeve. The sleeve provides a

    continuous filter, unbroken by slits or openings which can

    leak solids into the coolant. Filter also features a built-in

    lifting bail, anti-bridging reverse tapered sides and patented

    positive locking latch. Fittings for fork lift handling are

    integral to the two-piece cover. Optional five weave

    polypropylene filter sleeve available.
