What is Smart Music?
A Program designed to make practicing music at home much easier and
more interactive with the students. It allows students who have trouble with
playing or singing music to receive feedback on what they got right and
wrong and get scored on how well it sounded. The Teacher can also see if
the student did the work and see what they got and how it sounded. This
software is useful as Assistive Technology because most musical training (i.e.
playing an instrument or singing) requires at home practice as well as
practice in the classroom. This software allows a more interactive way for
students to get feedback on what needs help instead of just practicing wrong
notes/rhythms and not understanding why.
How Does it Work?
*In order for the teacher to makes scores, you need to have Finale*
*In order for students to use it, they need a computer and microphone (it is
recommended to use the Smart Music USB Microphone)*

scores for the students
Students are able to
access music scores
Students practice the
music scores at home and
recieve feedback
Teacher can access the
work students did and work on
problem areas in
class

Both teacher and student has access to the material posted and
grades/feedback

techniques
