Some questions to ask when considering options :
• How many areas are there to control ? (number of switches / dimmers)
• What is the area of the project in sq ft ? (for the number of antenna)
• Are there 3-ways or 4-ways ? If yes how many ?
• What are the types of lighting zones ? (LED, Inc., Hal, MLV, ELV)
• Forward or Reverse phase ? (MLV or ELV transformer)
• Is there a Neutral in the switch / dimmer box ? (propose a Neutral dimmer for better LED compatibility)
• What is the load in Watts per zone ? (allows to choose the right dimmer 150W LED, 250W LED, 600 / 1000W inc, Hal, MLV, ELV)
• Need multi-button wall keypads to create various scenarios such as lighting and / or shades and / or audio ?
• Need a 24V thermostat for central heating ? (not 120 / 240)
• Do you have or do you want Lutron motorized shades ? battery or 120V ? (How many keyboards ? With battery or 120V ?)
• Do you want to control audio with a Sonos system ?
• Do you want to have voice commands ? (Google Home, Siri (Apple / Homekit), Amazon Alexa)
• Do you need a timer and a schedule for your lighting ? (holiday mode : random light / time for lighting)

Connected home : All aspects of adding control to your home and appliances. This can be as simple as adding the remote control to a few lights or creating a more complex system that includes automatic sensors and security systems.
Bluetooth LE : Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) is a term used to describe a wireless protocol for connecting devices in the same room and requiring very little power to operate, limited to 30 feet.
Geofencing : Geofencing is an invisible perimeter around your house. Using Wi-Fi or GPS on your smartphone, watch, or other mobile device, geofencing lets you trigger actions from other devices connected to your home as soon as you enter the "boundary" geofenced.
Wi-Fi : A wireless network that allows computers, printers, and other devices to communicate with each other and the Internet (if the router is connected to the Internet). Wi-Fi is based.
ZigBee : A wireless protocol known for its excellent range, low power consumption and relatively fast speed when communicating between devices, ZigBee is an increasingly popular protocol among devices intelligent domestic workers.
Z-Wave : Another wireless protocol more and more familiar through home automation and smart home appliances, Z-Wave uses a "mesh network" where each individual device using the protocol acts as a signal amplifier for the next in relay.
HDMI Balun : Extend HDMI signals up to 350 feet with cheap Cat5 / Cat6 Baluns.
Video Matrix Switch : Transports video from multiple video sources to multiple video display units. Video Matrix is a combination of Video Switch and Video Splitter.
Gateway : Connects your home network to the Internet.
Router : Similar to a gateway, a router connects a local area network (LAN) to the Internet.
