 America: to address the aging of the distributionnetwork, improve service levels, and enhance userinteraction.

Europe: to promote renewable energy use, so that thepower industry meets the efficient, flexible,environmentally friendly and conducive to market-oriented and other requirements

China: to achieve optimal allocation of grid resource andto achieve "plug and play" distributed powerapplications, and the popularity of smart meters.

“No uniform definition” about smart grid in the word. The

focus of the development of smart grid also varies.
