Council of Museum (ICOM)s definition of
museum that one of the purpose of museum
exhibit its collection is for enjoyment, beside
education and study [3]

� the idea of Smart Assistant for Museums
Objects Navigation (SAMsON). SAMsON is a
mobile multimodal spoken dialogue system
that will be used by museums visitors for
exploring the museum and learning about its
collection.

Collection Browser
� Collection Browser providesinformation about the museum, andits collections.
� Visitors also can insert keywords to
search certain objects using thebrowser. The browser will give abrief description of the object andinform about its location in themuseum, so the visitors can godirectly to the objects location.
� In delivering the information,Collection Browser also use speech,beside graphical user-interface(GUI).

Object Recognizer
� Object Recognizer is used whenvisitors want to know the detailinformation of certain object thatthey face.
�Visitor only need to capture theimage of the object using the mobiledevice they held and SAMsON willprovides information of the object onthe mobile device screen usingaugmented reality (AR) technology.
� Beside graphical user-interface (GUI),Object Recognizer also use speech todeliver the information to visitors.

Virtual Guide
� Virtual Guide will act as personal assistant for the visitor inexploring the museum.
� Virtual Guide is an optional feature for the Object Recognizer.Visitor may activate this feature when visitor want to know furtherinformation about certain object. When the Virtual Guide was
activated, visitor will see an animated talking head that representthe assistant.
� Visitor can communicate with the Virtual Guide using speech.
� Visitor may ask something to the Virtual Guide and the system willtry to answer it based on its knowledge. The using of animatedtalking head and speech as the way of communicating, visitors whointeract with the Virtual Guide are expected to enjoy the interactionwith the system, so they will spend more of their time to interactwith the system.

Context-Aware Information
� The core of this feature is the use of
wireless sensor network (RFID).
� The RFID cards that are given to visitors are
divided into two types based on the age
group of visitors: (1) children, and (2) adult.
� Further, the RFID for locating the visitor is
important for other module in the system.
By knowing the location of certain visitor,
the work of Object Recognizer will be much
easier because the system can limit the
searching process to collection that exist in
the room where the visitor are.
