I will encourage everyone I employ to sign up to the Social Care Commitment and to commit to any codes, standards or registration systems applicable to their job role.

Ensure regular review of employee performance in relation to the Social Care Commitment and respond to any shortfall.

It is already standard company policy to have yearly appraisals. In addition supervision should take place 12 times per year. We haveasetagreementdetailingwhatbothpartiesshouldexpectfrom a supervision. Need to ensure thatsupervisions are monitored to see that they are achieving their aims and addressing any performance issues.

I will provide thorough induction for all new staff and for those changing job roles.

Develop and review induction processes in line with legal requirements and best practice.

The Common Induction Standards form the basis of our current induction process incorporating mandatory training. In addition theinductionthenincludesanAutismspecificphasefollowedbyanAspergersworkbookaspartofanexternalcourse.Theinduction is set up in this way as we are aspecialist service and need to incorporate both mandatoryelementsoftrainingtogetherwithspecificelementstoreflecttheservice we provide.

I will provide timely, appropriate and accessible education, learning and development opportunities to enable my employees to develop and strengthen their skills and knowledge.

Engage staff in discussions around professionalism and respectful behaviours in the workplace.

Staff meetings take place once a week covering topics such asbehaviour in the workplace, dignity and respect. This is anopportunitytodiscussallourexistingpoliciesandmakesureallstaffunderstandthem.Weeklyopportunitytoreviewexistingpractices and ensure staff have a forum to voice any concerns or ask any questions. Continually under review.

I will work to ensure a positive culture and working environment where all employees are supported to do what they’ve said they will as part of their Social Care Commitment.

Include working culture and atmosphere as a standing item in team meetings andsupervision/appraisal processes.

Reminders to be given in staff meetings and supervisions topromote the working culture of the company. Genuine wish forthis to be facilitated from the top to the bottom of the company toachieveastandardofexcellence.
