What is a SOHO? A SOHO is basically a

home network that supports from 1 to 10 users.

SOHO’s can used for a home business, or they can be used simply to connect your household.

Creating a SOHO is often as simple or complex as you want your network to be.

What are the advantages to having a SOHO?

Being able to print from any computer tied to your network.

No computer in the house is inaccessible.

Sharing pictures and file between computer to computer, and between other output devices such as game consoles.

Security risks associated with home networking. Once a home network is created, it is there until you decide

to tear it down. Never disable port to make you home network communicate,

unless you are absolutely sure what you are doing. NEVER disable the firewall on your network router. Always make your passwords for your network contain, 2

upper, 2 lower, 2 numbers, and 2 special characters. (*&^% etc.)

Always put login passwords on every computer on your network.

Think of home networking as a hobby. Networking is only done

when you stop it. Always find ways to make

your life easier with your network (like attaching a NAS or all in one printer)

Try to connect more than just computers, try to network EVERYTHING. The possibilities are endless…
