Tree canopy shakes as something appears from behind the foliage.

Reveal of Bird, a beautiful bird of paradise. It ruffles its feathers and looks around.

Small Creature was so happy that Bird was always there.

Bird nods. Small Creature falls asleep.And Bird would always answer, “Yes we will always be together”.

Close up on Small Creature asleep. Bird disappears from behind him.

Small Creature wakes up and looks around him.Now one day Small Creature woke up feeling sad and called for Bird.

Slow zoom out to reveal Small Creature is all alone. Only a single feather remains of Bird.

“Bird, Bird” But there was no answer.

Small Creature stands up. The feather is picked up by a gust of wind and blown off screen.

He decided that she must be hiding.

Small Creature pops his head in from the left.“Bird”

Small Creature pops his head in from the bottom of frame. He realises something is wrong. Camera pans down.

“Why aren’t you here?” Still Bird did not appear.

Small Creature looks very worried. His belly wobbles round the edges.

Small Creature suddenly felt very scared. His insides went all wobbly and he felt a little sick. Where was Bird?

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDPan right. Small Creature walks through the forest following Bird’s feather floating on the breeze.

He walked and he walked...

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDFeather floats off screen. Small Creature ends up in thick forest. Its dark and spooky and he’s lost. Scary forest sounds.

until he was deep inside the forest.

ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature looks around. He’s terrified. Sound of his beating heart.

He felt all shaky and scared and his heart beat loudly in his little chest.

ACTION / SOUNDIn the forest canopy a shape starts to appear. Could it be Bird?


VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDIt’s a Squirrel.“Who are you looking for?”, chirruped Squirrel.

place that we cannot go to. It may have been time for Bird to go to that place”

sat with Small Creature and said, “When the wind blows it will take all your messages to Bird and Bird will know how much you loved her and miss her”

THE SMALL CREATURE Chapter: Angry

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDHe comes to a stop. A wall of rocks blocks his path. Feather floats off screen, above the rocks.

until he reached a rocky place.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDRapid pull out to reveal the wall of rocks is in fact the base of a vast mountain.

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDSmall Creature can’t get past it, he can’t find Bird. He starts to feel desperate.

There a hard, knotted feeling started to grow inside his belly.

ACTION / SOUNDDesperation turns into petulant anger.He was angry. Angry at Bird for leaving him.


VOICEOVER

ACTION / SOUNDHe takes his frustration out on the mountain, giving it one powerful kick.

“Bird!” he shouted. “Why have you gone?”

VOICEOVER ACTION / SOUNDThe dust cloud dissipates revealing Small Creature sitting dejected in the middle of the rubble. It forms the shape of Bird. After a moment, Mouse pops his head from behind one of the rocks.

“Why have you left me?”

“Because Bird is gone and I’m all angry and scared and my belly feels sick” replied Small Creature.

until he got to the wild and windy sea.

There he started to cry.
