outreachinitiativebeginningonMarch7thandrunningthroughMarch10th.EachdayfocusesonSMAC’s
diverseprogramsanditsmissiontoadvancethecreativesectorinourcommunity.

havegonefromonedaytofourwithexpandedprogrammingthattargetsartsorganizations,boardmembers,businessowners,publicartenthusiasts,philanthropists,poetsandteachingartists,”saidRhyena
Halpern,ExecutiveDirectorofSMAC.“Weknowthattheartssectorprovidesjobsandstimulatescommerce
andthisyearwehavereachedouttoasmallarmyofexpertsasweexamineresourcesandopportunitiesin
thecreativeeconomy.”
SMAC.OPENDAILYwillprovideprofessionaldevelopmentandfundingresourcesforartsorganizations
beginningwithWhere’stheMoneySymposium–Year2,tobeheldonMarch7,2012atKVIE.The
symposiumboaststwokeynotespeakers--RandyCohen,VicePresidentofResearchandPolicyatAmericans
fortheArtsandKimKleinofKleinandRothConsultants.Cohenconnectswiththecreativeandbusiness
sectorsasoneofthemostprominentexpertsinfieldsofartsfunding,researchandpolicy.Cohenwillalsospeakatthe“Sacramento’sCreativeIndustriesintheNewEconomy”SacramentoMetroChamberbreakfast
toaddresscommunitydevelopmentintheneweconomy.Kleinisbestknownforadaptingtraditional
fundraisingtechniquestoorganizationswithsmallbudgets,andaprojectcalledNon-profitsTalkingTaxeson
whichshewillfocusherkeynote.Thedaylongconferencewillhavedynamicspeakersincludingapanelthat
willoutlinetheopportunitiesandresourcesavailabletoartsorganizations.Representedorganizations
