FEI Houston Chapter Newsletter / September Issue, 2013 Page 2

Greetings,

I look forward to serving as your President for the 2013 – 2014 membership year. We have a great slate of officers and directors and we have spent the better part of the summer planning and scheduling what is framing up to be an exciting year ahead.

We have continued to leverage from the best practices of other successful chapters and as our past president has said time and time again, FEI is the best kept secret in Houston; however, we need

to share that secret with others. We kicked off our membership expansion efforts last year and want to continue that momentum for the coming year. However, we have continually found that our most successful efforts for recruitment come from your personal outreach to colleagues and peers that you know. Please share the secret as we strive to enrich the chapter with a cross section of industry and diversity from our city.

In August the chapter co-sponsored with Houston Business Journal the “Best CFO of Houston Award.” Congratulations to Ken Fisher, Laura Fulton, Marshall Smith, and Jennifer Hazelton from our Chapter who were recipients of this award.

We have a great September meeting planned to kick-off the new year. Charles Davidson, CEO of Noble Energy will be our dinner speaker. Sirius Solutions will provide our Professional Development session.

If you are not plugged into a committee, please consider doing so. You don’t have to volunteer for a Board position and we will let you start out small but it’s a great way to get involved and fellowship with our group.

Our sincere thanks to Norton Rose Fulbright who is our platinum dinner sponsor and SRR, who is our gold social hour sponsor for our September meeting. Without the generous support of our sponsors, who contribute money, time, in-kind donations, and ideas to our chapter, we could not accomplish what we do each year. Please give our sponsors preference when needing business services from these valuable partners.

On behalf of the officers and directors, we look forward to an exciting and dynamic year of change for the chapter and we hope to see you at our meetings and social events.

Regards,
