Aims• Observe the using process (access to

the Production Centre Website) of user and interview them about opinions of Production Centre Website in the following aspects.

1. Usage 2. Interface3. Layout4. Improvements

Research method • Task Analysis + Interview

– in SCM– pick students of different year and stream– a few tasks have been set for them to do (tasks needed to be fulfilled in the Production Centre Website and Online Booking System)– see whether they can finish or not (any difficulties?)– During/After the task analysis, we interview them to ask them about the

comment on how to improve the layout of the website

- Check these 3 equipments which in the photos

availabe or not

System • Do they know how to find the equipment

– require 53 seconds to go to login page– require 3:48 to login the booking system– can not match the equipments photo with the

model name– two login name and password– linkage: photo or text?

– require 20 seconds to login – require 1:35 to match the photo with the

equipment model name– complete at 2:39

• Year 3 CA– require 28 seconds to login– require 3:28 to match the photo– complete at 5:00

- pay attention to the design

2. Click into “Introduction”, . Do you like the design? if not, why? Color? Fonts? Graphic(e.g. photo of the staff)?

3. Have you ever clicked into “Introduction” part? Do you think the information of the “Introduction” is useful?

– 7,old school,can be simpler– not consistent with others pages– can be simpler and more practical– icons may be added– not too colorful

• introduction– never use, or use once only– too many texts– opening hours should be in the homepage or

in the online booking system 14

• Online Booking System– the linkage, pic or text?– title is not clear but too many texts– add the equipments pic next to the model

name– instruction booklet, comparison,compatibility

and configuration maybe added– no need to have package

– should post the photo inside the booking system

– should not show one photo each time– video tripod VS tripod??– not update– want the configuration and comparison

– useful– ugly

• Useful Information– the title is not clear enough (eg. links for

renting)– information is useful

• Form downloads– never use– printing in CityU is trouble– possibility: submit the form online?
