Since the establishment of India’s first non-academic incubator at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram in 2002, Government of Kerala strives to build a robust Startup ecosystem in the State of Kerala through various policy interventions. It is reported that women contributes a meagre 13% of start-up founders in the state. Being a State always stood in the forefront of women empowerment and gender equality, State of Kerala has decided to encourage women to initiate start up endeavours in the sunrise technology sectors. With a view to encourage the women entrepreneurs, Kerala Startup Mission, State Nodal agency for promotion of tech-nology and innovation join hands with SHE LOVES TECH,world’s largest technology platform focusing on women and Technology . She Loves Tech focuses on developing a network for entre-preneurs, companies, and investors to promote technology for women and women entrepreneurs across the world and conducts an annual Global Startup Challenge “SHE LOVES TECH” at Beijing, China focusing on Startups working towards the empowerment of women through technology. Kerala Start-up Mission in partnership with SHE LOVES TECH organises India round, The National Grand Challenge on 1st August,2019 at Integrated Startup Complex, Cochin. Startups seeking seed, angel or series A round funding (under US$5M)with at least a minimum viable product (past conceptual stage)
(a) Any entrepreneur, male or female, who is using technology to impact women positively: - Are a significant proportion of end-users female? - Are products specifically designed with women users in mind? - Does the product itself address a problem that affects women?
(b) At least one female entrepreneur in founding team who is using technology to solve a problem
