- Front page is fed by blogger.com

- Calendar of events - google calendar

- Photos - flikr - requires some coding to prepare

sponsorship from firms - possibly for grad

- Only issue is doesn't operate on IE7

Discussion

- Ryu - sponsorship would be a great opportunity

- Amanda - Paypal account to pay for events/dues/etc. - need to be able to

track who is the source of the payment and for what event

- Adrian - direct pay through banking - will look into with bank

- Ryu - as long as it isn't too much per transaction

- Megan - bank payee may be an option

- Ryu - events probably only need better distribution of tickets - may not

require online payment

- Nabeel - CANs (disclaimer, rating system), other committees (blogs too)

Finances

Presenter:

Nabeel

Peermohamed File Attachment

- Had a meeting with accountants upstairs

- They have trust account for grad

- UofC will be collapsing the trust account

- We will be having greater control

- May have been paying for this year's grad out of SLS general operating

fund, will need to sort out what payments have been made, what is left to

create our budget for the coming year

Discussion

- Ryu - can we split the amounts in accounts instead of having grad and

general operating funds in one account - need transparency and need to be

able to see where money is coming from, where it is going to -

- Adrian - can do in excel, but will also look into keeping grad money

separate - will be reconciling things to determine how much is in grad fund

for 2011 and general operating for the coming year

- Ryu - as of last meeting, 12,000 in general fund, of which 5,000 was for

each year (2011/2012), however, some payments were being made at the

grad event, so may have even less to start with

- Amanda - quarterly report should be published for all students to view

- Ryu - security issue if on website, but may be by email
