4400Steel Framed Bifold Mirror DoorProvide Model 4400 bifold mirror wardrobe doorsmanufactured by Dunbarton Corporation, Dothan, AL in thedimensions shown on the drawings and with the followingattributes:

ARRANGEMENTa. Bifold mirror wardrobe

doors shall consist offramed mirror panelsjoined at the top andbottom by concealedhinges with stops thatprevent over closing of thedoor.

b. Spring-loaded guides with11/16" (17mm) travel shallbe installed at the top andbottom corners of the lead(guided) door panel. Thespring-loaded top pivot inthe pivot panel shallengage a horizontallyadjustable pivot bracketretained in the top track.The guides shall engagewheels that are free toslide or rotate and areretained in the top andbottom tracks. The wrenchadjustable bottom pivotshall be installed in the bottom corner of the pivot paneland engage a horizontally adjustable pivot bracket in thebottom track.

c. The pivots and guides shall be installed in corner connectorholes by tapping on their projecting steel pins. The pivotand guide housings shall be interchangeable so a pair ofdoors can install either to a right or left jamb.

d. The top and bottom tracks shall be of same height andinterchangeable by containing identical hardware. A springsnugger is installed in both the top and bottom tracks tohelp keep the doors in place while in the closed position.

e. The concealed hinges shall be zinc plated and beassembled with two plastic bearing washers to preventbinding and promote long wear life.

framed mirror panels. Stiles and rails shall be joined ateach corner by a corner block. Each corner block shall havea cavity to accept a pivot or guide.

Steel Bifold SpecificationsShort Form: Wardrobe and closet doors, so

specified to be Slimfold® prefinished metal foldingdoors manufactured by Slimfold® Products Division,meet or exceed Voluntary Product Standard PS38-70,as published by the U.S. Department of Commerce,National Bureau ofStandards.

Full Form: Doorpanels andreinforcingstiffeners shall be24-gauge coldrolled steel.

Alternate forcoastal areas withhigh salt contentatmosphere: A hotdipped coating ofzinc-iron alloy(galvanized) isrecommended. Alsorecommended forbathrooms, laundryrooms, HVAC areasor any high-humidity situation.Contact factory forproper re-paintinginstructions.

Door panelsshall be accurately formed and reinforced with 4"wide stiffeners welded to backs and flanges of panels.Panels shall be hinged in pairs with a minimum of10" (254mm) of piano-type hinges. Panels to besound-deadened with corrugated fiberboard or otherabsorbent, are optional.

All mounting hardware shall be factory installed.Rods to be zinc plated cold rolled steel with yellowdichromate finish. Patented weight bearing pivot rodsto be 9/16" (14mm) diameter, adjustable screw type,

and securely held in position by nylon rod clampassemblies. Guide rods and upper pivot rods shall be1/4" (6mm) in diameter, spring loaded for easy self-alignment, and securely held in position by self-retaining nylon sleeves. Top and bottom tracks are.055 mill finish aluminum. Pivot sockets and rubbertrack bumpers shall be adjustable to allow lateralalignment and be preset in the track. Sockets aresteel zinc plated and waxed. Doors to be suppliedprefinished. Mill finish bottomless track bracketavailable as an option. Hardware consists of onebracket, socket and mounting screws per two-panelunit. Alignment brackets included on four-panel units.Hardware packages consisting of knobs or pulls,screws, and felt discs to be supplied with each door.

Mirrors shall be high quality, double strength withmylar trimmed edges and shall fully cover the panel.They shall conform to Government SpecificationDD-M-00411 (b) and be securely mounted withdouble faced polyurethane tape, which shall also actas a shock absorbing cushion for the glass. Channelsshall protect the top and bottom edges of the mirror.

the recommended written installation instructions ofSlimfold® Products Division and with establishedbuilding practices, have been accorded treatmentwhich is considered good practice in the buildingindustry regarding storage and maintenance, and havebeen subjected only to normal use. BecauseSlimfold® Products Division cannot control themanner in which its products are handled afterleaving its premises, this warranty does not apply tothe finish or other damage occurring during shipment.

There are no warranties, express or implied, whichextend beyond the description on the face hereof,including the implied warranty of merchantability andthe implied warranty of fitness for a particularpurpose.

Some states do not allow limitations on how longan implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation maynot apply in some cases.
