Service and maintenance

10 Service and maintenanceThe maintenance work described below must be performed by an expert on the Slimdrive EMD and Slimdrive EMD-F at least once a year or after 500,000 cycles. If there is a display programme switch, the service display lights up in the display.

X Service and maintenance should then be carried out promptly.

10.1 Dangers during mechanical service

ATTENTION!Danger of fatal injury due to electric shock!

X Disconnect the power supply from the drive by a master switch supplied by the customer and secure it against reactivating or disconnect the connector in the drive (see Section 8.2).

ATTENTION!Risk of injury due to falling hood!Danger of fatal injury due to electric shock! The hood is held with a catch mechanism at the drive side parts.

X Unplug the earthing cable (yellow-green) from the cable lug at the hood. X When re-installing, plug this earth cable back in at the same point before fitting the hood. Otherwise there is a

risk of an electric shock if a short-circuit to earth occurs.

ATTENTION!Risk of injury caused by crushing!

X Ensure that you have no extremities in the swinging area during swing movements of the lever or of the link arm.

Electrical brake in deenergized stateThe Slimdrive EMD-F has a brake which is controlled electrically for the closing speed. This is operable during a power failure, with an electrically deactivated device and in the case of a fire alarm (generator principle). There is a considerable risk of injury through the lever when the control unit is replaced or when cables between the control unit and the motor are disconnected. The opening of the door or the tensioning of the arm stores energy that is unbraked when released.

X Always close the door by hand and dismantle the lever as described in Section 6.7.4.

ATTENTION!Risk of injury caused by crushing! There is a considerable danger of injury through the lever when the control unit is replaced or when cables between the control unit and the motor are disconnected.

X In these cases always close the door manually and dismantle the lever as described in Section 6.7.4. X Always tighten the cable connections (1) after servicing and maintenance work.

Service and maintenance

ATTENTION!Risk of burns due to hot motor! The motor in the drive can become very hot after continuous operation or poor ease of movement or other defects.

X Disconnect the system from the mains network before working on the motor. X Let the motor cool down.

10.2 Maintenance workThe Slimdrive EMD/EMD-F is free of maintenance to a great extent and no extensive work has to be carried out with the exception of that specified below:

X Check fixing screws for tightness. X Tighten the fastening screw for the link arm or roller lever with 15 Nm. X Check the O-rings on the roller in the rail, replace if necessary (for dismantling of the lever see Section 6.7.4). X Clean the inside of the roller guide rail. X Check that the door latch functions correctly and is clean, oil lightly if necessary. X Check the roller lever or the link arm for damage, replace if necessary.

Test run X Remove the mains plug. X Ensure that the door moves properly. X Correct installation and closing sequence (for 2-leaf doors). X For EMD-F: Open the door(s), check the closing speed and latching action (see section 8) and adjust if necessa-

ry. X Switch the power supply back on or plug the connector back in.

10.3 Electrical service X Keep the test documents up-to-date and make them available.

The number of openings, operating hours and remaining time until the next servicing can be queried as descri-bed in the wiring diagram (see wiring diagram, sections "Commissioning and service" and "Service mode").

X After completing the maintenance work, always execute the Learning function for the Slimdrive EMD/EMD-F (see wiring diagram, section "Commissioning and service").

X Check the functioning of the actuating and presence sensors and replace if necessary.

10.4 Electrical faultsFault messages are stored and can be called up using the display programme switch or the service terminal ST220. If a fault is currently active, it is shown every 10 seconds on the display programme switch or the service terminal ST220. If the dot lights up in the left half of the display programme switch, the system was unable to completely initialise after being switched on. Either there is an obstruction or something in the system itself has become jammed. The dot extinguishes as soon as the door has been opened completely and closed again once. For troubleshooting and fault elimination see the fault table in the wiring diagram, "Fault messages" section.

X After changes to the drive (spring pretension, opening width, mounting dimensions, change in the actuation elements) or modifications to the "Open" safety sensor, check the control parameters (see wiring diagram).

X Reteach the drive (see wiring diagram). X The "Service mode" has been executed completely (see wiring diagram).
